I would recommend a 100mm (4inch) ball of either silicone (highly recommend sil-x) or acrylic. The acrylic really suck if you do something silly like hit yourself in the face. But the weight on them is super nice for things like stalls or body rolls. Silicone is great because it's light and you aren't afraid to drop it. As for moves, start with a cradle and butterfly! Before you go learning too much tech though, play with your beginners mind. Just play and find your flow first.
