It was so tough watching Levi struggle on those stairs. What a great and loyal friend he is. Dogs remind us of our own mortality, because we can watch their whole lifespan in what feels like the blink of an eye. I hope to keep seeing him in these videos, but know it can't last forever 💔

It's sad to say, but he did the right thing getting Kody while Levi is still with us, as it will lessen the blow of Levis eventual passing ever so slightly. It still makes me sad thinking about my dogs that died over the years, but they are a joy to have in your life, and that's the price you have to pay. I heard a story about a man who had black Labs. When one died he got anoth and gave it the same name treating it like the same dog. His way of coping I guess.

Love how it came out! You have to paint the roof or the rusty water is just gonna run off and splash on everything below. plus it will repel the water off the roof faster without settling on the iron. Like this comment if you think Andrew Should Paint the Roof!!
@hettyreefman93794 жыл бұрын
Don’t paint it, love the rust color 👍 Just put gutters around against the splash
@sirmalus51533 жыл бұрын
If the roof doesn't get painted, it will rust through or even de-laminate in time. I'd hate to try finding a pinhole rust point in all those welded seams to stop a small leak in years ahead. All that would take some years to happen though.
@roddypryce4543 жыл бұрын
I think Andrew should paint the roof. If it was copper it would form a green patina and be stable but the iron will keep on rusting and pinholes will eventually appear on the surface over time. That’s why they paint cars and tractors etc.

Deplorable Centrist I recently had to have a pet put to sleep.... Eva was a wonderful wonderful dog. Smart, loving and polite. I miss her. I got her as a rescue, she was a pit bull that was abused, so I made damn sure the last 10 years of her life she was pampered and wanted for nothing. She never once offered to harm anyone, she loved to scare the local cats out of their minds, but she never harmed one, mostly because Pit bulls give cats super speed and wings! I miss that dog.

@@ianstradian I know the feeling. We rescued all but one of our pets. At one time we had 5 dogs and 4 cats, all living in a 2 bedroom house with us.The cats had the front bedroom all to themselves One cat lived to be almost 21. We lost 3 pets in one year, because they were old or got sick, and it hurts everytime, but the love we got back from all of them helped ease that pain. Now we just have 4 dogs----three terriers and a chocolate lab. They're our furry kids.

Really adding value to that land. Lovely paint job, lovely roof. Keep up with the brick mortar maintenance, and that place should last hundreds of years.

You have to paint that roof, you’ll get rust stains every time it rains it will drip everywhere

Yes, I would vote to prep, prime and paint the roof - prob 2x coats - should make it hold up better - and no rust stains on the ground or on the side of your strong castle!

or rust out a bit more and then clear coat

The welds will be the first to rust out.

Also don't forget that a white roof will reflect sun energy back up into the atmosphere, helping avoid climate warming. An even more advanced solution could be to plant greenery on the roof because that will simulate having no building there at all. You may even attract bees and help your local biodiversity and lifecycles.

Period-correct castles used yellow or pink limestone, so if you wanted it to be more castle-like, you could use the yellowish limestone colour and get probably lots of the benefits of having a white roof.
