Container Planting of Ice Dance Japanese Sedge "Carex Morrowii"

I have lots and lots of these. They grow in full shade and drought. I saw you clip yours back so I did the same. I had never done anything to them. They look much better now. Every plant looks so much nicer in containers. Where on earth did you get the fiberglass containers in this video. Locally?😍

I purchased these over 10 years ago at Fred Meyer in Bellingham, Washington. I keep the Sedge in container, not in ground, since I heard they may spread. Do you find that to be the case? Agree things look better in containers. More work but worth it as long as its not too physical.

@@GardenNotes As I pruned them, I thought about this. I would not call them invasive by any means, but they do spread. - very slowly. The runners are very near the surface and easy to pull. I have invasive plants, but I wouldn't hesitate to plant more. I have them all over.

Nice! How about overwintering? Would look nice under Japanese maples😉lol!

I had 2 last year and they were under the Viburnum. They did not make the cold winter. I will place them as close to the house & under cover over winter. With climate changes, weather seem more extreme. They are now next to a Japanese Maple. The red leave tree by my front door. I check back on the video. It only show on the last 5 seconds of the video 😊
