I have a question. If the pt. Had a kidney transplant and we are billing for the immunosuppressive therapy the Z94.0 (kidney transplant status) dx must be reported? Carrier is asking we remove it because they are bundling to kidney transplant surgery.

Can you talk about UTI and the add on code. Providers i code for never specify the organism bacteria. They just do a Urinalysis and say its a UTI.

Most providers don't, you would just use the unspecified UTI code.

Ahh good topic..I see so much misuse of Z dx codes. New coders seems not understand First listed vs Secondary Z dx codes. It makes a difference if revenue is wanted not a denial
