That fabulous white paint on all that knotty pine completely transforms this house into a bright, welcoming retreat! The wallpaper’s wonderful texture packs such a big punch, but doesn’t overwhelm the room. Using the space under the stairs by reimagining the hand-me-down dining room table was brilliant! Laundry folding, game playing, overflow dining, kids retreat from the adults... such a great use of of what could have been wasted space! These are just a few of the many reasons we admire and respect your amazing design talents! Bravo!

I LOVE that you mentioned winter colors don't have to be dark. I just redid my winter wardrobe this year in icy pastels and ivorys, camels, and soft grays, and I love it!!! This ground level is a perfect example of what you do perfectly - soft colors that will stand the test of time with interesting patterns and textures. My FAVORITE way to decorate. You never grow tired of it, and it never goes out of style. It's just soothing, restful, and relaxing.

OMG!! Where do I start! 1st, I too thought that the hallway wallpaper looked like pine trees that you see growing on the sides of towering mountains. I LOVE wallpaper! Today's wallpapers are magnificent! Take yours, for example! To have the old dinning room table under the staircase for the kids to use - couldn't be any more perfect. Love the laundry room, LOVE the bathroom, LOVE LOVE the guest room! And having the glass stair railing opens up the room SO MUCH! And what a treat to have the original builder get a tour! Bet you'll get some business from him from his future projects!! You must have added at LEAST $1M value to that chalet! Sarah, you're the BEST!! Okay, I'm waiting for your next video. This woman can make a cardboard box into five star accommodations. When I was little I used to take big boxes and decorate for Barbie houses. I made curtains, after I cut windows out with my moms steak knife. Lol. I stack boxes on top of each other for rooms and floors. Sarah you’re amazing. You’re everything I dreamed of being.

This chalet looked like so many yellow-knotty-pine places in Whistler....and the transformation is astonishing. The dark to bright transformation alone is amazing - feels so fresh now! I do wish the posts still had more of the wood showing through (similar to the stairs) but I can let it go because overall it's so bright and beautiful. Also, the most wallpaper EVER used by Sarah?? ;)

The crafts table (doubling as a laundry folding area) is brilliant. Such a good use of space. I really liked the bathroom mirror with the sorta rivet detail (love those taps too). The chevron pattern on those closet doors makes such a difference! And the big pine cupboard gives a grounding to the area and makes the table seem less obtrusive.

Beautiful! Love it all especially the stair railing. Really opens and brightens it all! The guest room is so serene. Love the wood of the craft table and hutch, that's what wood is ? supposed to do, warm up the space not take over and darken the space like all that wood did before. As usual, genius!

It looks fresh and bright. I especially like the huge, gorgeous wood cupboard and table in the stairway space. I also really like the strips of wood added to the closet doors - a great, classy update to plain, original doors. I like most of the white paint on the wood, but I would have preferred keeping just the ceiling beams natural.

Love it all Sarah 💛 I noticed you hung the picture frames lower... Then I would have expected ....Is that because the ceilings a low or is it something you generally do ?

Is it lower? I tend to hang artwork within what I would assume to be a "normal range" however some people prefer lower and some people prefer higher. When installing for clients we often look around before hand to see how they've hung their artwork and choose heights with that in mind. Thanks for the comment Raina! Hey Della! I wanted to keep the cracks in the beams visible because it tells you that the wood is real and celebrates the fact that the structure is using solid natural materials. I mention this in the last chalet reveal episode so if you haven't seen it go check it out! :)
