I 100% agree on the world Dawn...a world with victorian townhouses and apartments would have been SO COOL, sad we have just another American suburban world but it is what it is

It’s funny because they based it on the bay/sf. Sf is nearly all Victorian townhomes and apts, besides some specific districts. So it’s weird that they didn’t play into that. They pretty much just did Bay Area suburbs.

Completely agree! I was really sad that we were getting neither townhomes nor apartments in a world supposedly based on the Bay Area. I guess it’s more Marin County…?

@@LightningMcqu33f Yeah, famous for their "painted lady" victorian houses...would've been awesome and if they gave a feature to have multiple & seperare households on same lot, or to build functioning townhouse lots, people would've loved this pack!

totally agree with the world, i would’ve loved a city with townhouses and apartments :( i’m bored of american suburbia in the sims!! i’d love to see more worlds based on asia, africa or south america or a world even inspired by ireland, especially a whimsical realistic world inspired by the west of ireland with mountains and lakes and forests!!

@Simzietta i would love a Chinese world too!! so many beautiful places. i’m biased and would love a world inspired by western Ireland because it’s one of my favourite places but China would be my second pick for a world!! there’s so much variety and the game is just lacking for me :( every world starts to feel and look the same

Such a beautiful build! And I shared a bathroom like that with two doors with my parents growing up, and it was completely normal! Also great for playing with friends, as it meant you could run through the rooms in a loop and chase each other~

Did you notice that this new world has the same bridge as San Monshuno? So I guess you can say this is the city that's across the bay from San Monshuno. I like that because it makes it feel like all the worlds are connected

You can find fan-created full maps of the sims 4 world. Most of them are pretty much the same in how people have connected the worlds together to make one big map. Not sure if anyone has updated with this new world, but I bet that's how they squeeze it in. Maybe it was to save money, but if we think about all the worlds being connected that just helps bring that to life for us.

I agree the world is something we have seen before, and most players are not from America. I would have loved to see more of a European world, or Scandinavian world. 😬 but I will say, this is properly the best build using the new ep. That I have seen so fare. 🎉 well done.

The world is reminding me a lot of Palo Alto so far, which is a suburban town just outside of San Francisco. I also would’ve LOVED a more urban, downtown San Fran vibe, but the world is giving me a lot of nostalgia for my childhood spent in the Palo Alto/Berkeley area so it gets those points from me 😂

I totally agree with your expectatation for the pack. The sims team themself said it was based on the bay AND san fransisco specifcally, and to find there was no apartments was enormously dissapointing. I live in the bay, and I can tell you that san fransisco is not famous for their suburbia. Plus, the types of greenery and landscaping included was not complicit with the bay. We do not have magnolias over here LOL. I just hope we get apartments in the next pack, but it does suck for a pack based on SF to not look like SF at all.

Agree, it is very much a Hollywood idea of SF. sorta dated and a weird suburban ideal of the city when even the house heavy districts aren’t very suburban irl. My first thought was actually Sausalito with the walking lanes, close to the bay, and the nestled up against a mountain side. I was also team apartment. Sigh. Someday lol. Loving all your builds from the pack so far can’t wait to see what you do when it’s out.

I live in SF and the bridge is very similar to our Bay Bridge, the house you just completed is very similar the style of the homes that are in Oakland and Berkley Which is consider part of San Francisco.

I think the reason why this set is not complete is because they’re following the same of the pack. It’s not that the objects are incomplete, it represents various stages in the families growth/styles.

As a bay area native, i was looking forward to victorian townhouses so much! Or at least apartments and townhouse-like shells. Was disappointed with the suburban direction, since with their tools they could have easily put a new type of residential that would have been new and potentially versatile. :/

I think the more industrial things you used like the lights, bookcases, bar stools and end tables would look so good paired with the industrial loft kit. I can't wait to mix and match that stuff!

This build reminds me a lot of my in-law’s house, it’s got the same sort of modern-industrial vibe, a kitchen right at the entryway, even the bedrooms connected by an ensuite!

I watched Doctor Ashley’s early access and she had the same complaints as you about the build and buy. I’m also bummed that the coastal/city part of the world is just 1/3 of it. I’m fine with having a suburban area, but I wish it didn’t take up so much of the world. With that being said, I’m excited for the pack and I look forward to seeing your builds mixed with other packs. I hope you build a community center in the future. You’re great at community lots ❤

In reference to the world just being another suburb, I can see how that would be disappointing, however speaking as a Californian we have a lot of San somethings and most of them are predominately suburb so when I hear a city starting with san I tend to think suburb. Also just wanted to say I've been watching your videos for a few years now and I think you're really talented especially when it comes detail, your builds are just always incredible and so impressive.

See here's the thing, I did - *at first* think the same way about the world, but then not even a day later I perished the thought. Because it would end up being an assumption on my part that I'd feel let down on at the end of the day if I ended up being wrong. As much as I would've love them going in a different direction with the world, I realized that I had to temper my expectations because they never actually said anything about apartments.

I also agree with your opinions about the world and the items. I wish they'd given us a full matching set instead of a lone couch and maybe a side-chair. Not mad at them skipping a toilet this time, though, because we have enough of those.

If they really wanted some suburban, they should’ve made each area have different buildings. For example, one area is for houses, the other for townhouses, and the last one for apartments.

I would like the townhouse option but I don't really care for apartments, I literally never use apartments so it doesn't bother me to not have more. Until the day we can build our own apartment buildings and have different families live in each one, Im fine with not having anymore apartments

The world still looks beautiful. I know a lot of people are disappointed that there's no Victorian townhouses or apartments. Personally, all the Sims towns/cities mostly look suburban to me (that's across most of the games except The Sims 1 never played it). Not having apartments doesn't really bother because I don't really play in apartments my Sims grow out of them too fast. I love the industrial vibe this house has. This expansion blends well with a lot of packs and even basegame.

Have watched all your videos for early access. Gosh the eclectic pieces are stunning. It is actually good they have 3 different styles, you got to build 3 different beautiful builds. Agree about the world. I thought San Sequoia could have been another city with apartments like San Myshuno, maybe the cities could have been connected in some way. Wished for townhouses so much, could have worked similarly to apartments. The craftsman style is starting to become a bit too repetitive at this point. Hopefully the next world is less American.

my mother and father are not really house people. my mother and father arent together, but they love each other very much..as family!..its hard to go into details..but my mom used to live in a town house and my dad used to live in a apartment. then he moved to aa kinda big loft. 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom. shocking for the size. but he built in a room for me and turned out great. now my mom lives in like.a condo/ apartment {sorry if i spell wrong!]..so i really have a vision right now if they added it. cus they had a huge basegame update so i feel like more too come will be similar..?

Before they announced this pack, I was hoping EA wouldn't put out any more North American inspired worlds because we have too many. Then I was at least excited that it was the Bay Area because I thought we'd get Build Buy with bright outdoor sidings and elaborate details so we could make Painted Ladies style townhouses but no, they just did the worst job possible with the world. I love the gameplay, but I wish they'd just skipped having a world altogether with this pack like Seasons and we'd have gotten more kids and elder related build buy instead.

The main thing that I don’t care about Jack & Jill bathrooms in the Sims is that Sims end up using them like a hallway. And they inevitably end up walking in on another Sim and then they’re both embarrassed.

The doors and windows we should have gotten with eco lifestyle. They are beautiful. It's so strange they went in two different directions with furniture. Why do they always give us 10 chairs? I would have love to have a full kitchen set instead.. Maybe that will come in a kit? -_- I wonder when they're going to do more pack refreshes, I'd love to see them recolor old pieces we already have with better/matching wood tones.

I feel the same way. They could of made more furniture with cosy items like pillows and throws but for them to look for used then pristine so say… I think they did well but not to their full potential. Even with cas items it just seems lazy… like an expansion pack for me they should have at least 1 new item for every furniture section, at least the main ones like new counters, sofas, fire place, clutter items??

The WORLD too me feels boring, it’s in my opinion too little lots. In some neighbourhoods you have to go so far to get too your neighbour.. i would love it to be a lot more crowded lots like willow creek so it would feel more lively. When there was no apartments either i got so dissappointed 😩😩

The house is very beautiful. I have shared the bathroom with my parents all my childhood. Not everyone can afford to have separate bathrooms and not everyone is so insecure about nudity like the American culture seems to be. 🙈
