A lot of people seem pessimistic about the next expansion, specifically the theme itself. I think it only makes sense to start simple again after what we went through in Endwalker and not try to be even more extravagant while losing all grounding. I don't want the same crap that happened to WoW where they tried to make the next expansion even more grandiose than the last until existance itself lost its point.

That .s not what I am hearing. know one even really knows where this is really going Dawn Trail the name itself gives a small hint Dawn/ new day/ Trail/ path. Each patch is the title of not the over all story. it builds on what came before. The whole patch itself showed new areas dung, and jobs ,Plus 90 100 cap.and the limited beast master. It is no wonder they want to wait till summer to put his much content out.

29:18 RE: Dawntrail trailer: I think there's a very specific reason for the way the Dawntrail trailer is structured. I think they hiding a very significant portion of the plot from us. You look back at ShB trailer and it's all the scenes of the scions happen before we even travel to the First. Endwalker's trailer doesn't even reach the lvl 83 trial. But the threats (sin eaters, Final Days) are shown and clashed with. We aren't shown a threat in Dawntrail, and I think that's the biggest give-away. The threat in Dawntrail /IS/ the plot twist, and they are purposefully hiding this. The trailer feels weaker because of this, but I think we will appreciate not having it spoiled once we play the MSQ.

Going off of patterns and expectations, Galool Ja Ja, whos fight is seen in the Benchmark now, will likely be either the 93 trial or one of the first 3 dungeon bosses, and Eliminator being the 97/99 Trial. But the suspicious thing is that Solution Nine will almost certainly be visited *before the first Trial*; Whatever is hiding there is the big spoiler twist on par with the existence of Amaurot and Endwalker's last zone

It's fresh in my mind, since my wife was just doing the msq that touches on it yesterday. The loporites have cracked space travel, just not on a scale that would be useful to the Ragnarock. The moon is a colony ship made for interplanetary exploration, and colonization, the Ragnarock is a "Teeny tiny toy boat" made to go from earth to the moon, and refuel on both ends. We needed the mother crystal to take it to the edge of space. I would not be surprised if, now that EW's issues are solved, the loporites have successfully miniaturized their engines for smaller crafts, especially with access to omicron tech from Ultima Thule.

14's community is not great. You can't have any serious discussion about the game's shortcomings or suggest any changes without being downvoted to hell and being told to play other games in a storm of passive aggression. And of course, when those changes do make it into the game, those same people will say how amazing they are and how smart the developers were for implementing them.

I felt this when I was part of the communities ages ago, but it took me a while to realize I was the problem. I used to hammer XiV with criticism desperately wanting 1.0 elements to return. Criticism does promote growth, but in late stage capitalism we are rarely heard. So really, all you're doing is pointing out obvious stuff so everyone can be miserable like you. This world sucks, and it's just not worth caring about the details often. I do wish we lived in a world where new IPs and criticism flourished, for what it is worth. @@GoatOfWar

I'm happy to hear Zero has at least some love somewhere. People talk about being seen through characters and being attached to them. I didn't really have one until I saw Zero, and fighting Golbez was awesome. Kind of sad we won't see her again for some time, but I understand the reasons behind her not being around. Here's hoping we see her more in the future ❤

I agree with CrystAAHL with the Dawntrail trailers. The trailers were more just fan service and lacking in anything concrete. Everyone claims the whole "Beach service episode" there isn't really any stakes or drama that would pull you in. Comparing it to the 1.0 or ARR trailer it is more "Hey the Scions are here." rather than look at this world to immerse yourself in.

I haven't heard it talked about much, but if its not Allagan or Ascian, the technologically advanced civilization that matches the color palette for Solution Nine the best is Mhach. We know they created infrastructure based off of voidsent, and we have at least 3 instances of them building an ark to try to escape the calamity. I don't really know how Mhach slots into the DT narrative, but its worth mentioning. One of the concept images says 'Soul Supply' in proto Eorzean, so one wonders if its not really a temporal location as much as a big, Final Fantasy style San Junipero full of digitized souls.

While I may agree on the color palette with just the Void Ark, I highly disagree with the architectural and aesthetic designs, conspicuously visible in the Mhach and Dun Scaith raids.

I do wanna point out that we needed the Mother crystal to go to the very end of the universe. Perhaps for Cosmic Exploration we are gonna start closer to home so such a huge source of fuel won't be required.

I'm still in disbelief that the final days truly affected and ruined EVERY single possible planet with life on it... this video wasn't the first time I'm hearing it obv but the scope of that feat just feels so huge that it starts feeling unrealistic. I'm sure there has to have been surviving planets that never caught whiff of that deadly bird. That aside, I am incredibly excited for DT!!! EW was my first expansion from start to finish because I initially joined mid-way through Shb. I really enjoyed my time and I'm also in the boat of we got enough content because I still love going back to older stuff and there's so much of it!!! I can't wait to visit all the locales of Tural and learn the new lore and characters and witness the beginning of a new arc! I'm ready to consume all of it!

They would have had to been very far away. The song of oblivion had been spreading for millennia. Most of the universe succumbed to it. So for any potential stars to have not been touched by it would have had to have been very far away. Like astronomically far.

Spoilers for the Omega beyond the rift questline. The transmission Omega translates at the very end clearly implies that there are other surviving planets somewhere out in the universe, we just don't know how far or where. Plus now that Meteion unleashed the song of hope at the end of EW there's probably a higher chance that well come across places that have endured or are being reborn from the ashes of previous worlds.

IIRC Ultima Thule was considered to be located at the edge of creation, yeah? This implies the distance traveled is INSANELY far. So... Probably won't need as much energy to approach star systems that are closer?

I am SO glad y’all acknowledged Ashe in the poster - it’s been bothering me since they revealed it, and it feels like no one has noticed it. Started wondering if I was just imagining the resemblance. I’m excited to get viera and hrothgar lore for the source. I think if the trailer didn’t have much substance it might be on purpose, and the poster having Ashe (allegedly) hints at that purposeful lack of substance, as to like, not spoil the msq. Here’s hoping!

Restoring life to a post-Endwalker universe could be a neat project like the Doman Enclave, and I already thought of how it may work. . . . The Endsinger said she'd been hoarding souls to add to her Song of Oblivion, but where would they go now that it's over and the other lifestreams were collapsed? Our task may be to help jump start a new lifestream with these freed souls. The Omicron quests send us to a newly formed star, and there are so many islands floating around the glowing core that we could work with. I vaguely remember hearing that this can be done alone or as a group, which would be nice for newcomers who would otherwise miss the reconstruction process and watching the area change. It could even work the same way as the Firmament! Gatherers collect stuff (types of ether?), crafters make it into things, and all of it fills the meter to progress to the next stage. Easy to design for solo or group efforts, right?

My thoughts are that Solution 9 is part of outer space stuff. Probably Manderville since the last Manderville weapons are very cyberpunk. So yes Solution 9 from Outer Space.😅

Also, the single greatest contribution to science education on KZbin was that explanation of dark matter at the end. It’s not mystical or the answer to life’s mysteries; it’s literally a value that makes some very complicated equations work. Cosmology is definitely in its “Endwalker MacGuffin” phase 😤

Around 1:03:20 Solution 9 is actually an attack, not a terminology in FF IX, especifically it's Zidane's strongest single target attack that can only be used when he is in Trans (Which this is a pain to use in bosses), instead of having the attack Thievery, he obtains Solution 9. Which inside the game it's a reference to this game being the n°9 game of the franchise.

So I’m totally not of the same mind as her.. she says she likes that there wasn’t as much to do and she’s taking a break… ff4 wasn’t good and she still has all these things to do from old content.. it’s all over the place. Almost like she “doesn’t” want to play ffxiv. Just a little confused. We always want more content, FF4 was awesome, Criterion dungeons are what we asked for but, what for? Rewards as well as a good time. If there is more still to do, go do it. Someone that takes months breaks at a time is always going to be glad there isn’t to much content because they will not feel they missed out and will avoid FOMO.

The problem with Bozja for a lot of us was the story, yes a lot of people love 12 and tactics, but a lot of us actually hate the heavy handed writing style Matsuno. The grind for the zone is one of the best, the story was one of the most divisive. And if you hate the story pushing forward becomes that much harder. ESP in a story heavy grind. Bozja was so awful IMO I ended up hating Hrothgar entirely. I'm so glad they are having Hrothgar from the new world, so I don't automatically associate them with Bozja.

I think Mikoto is the worst character ever written. I've never HATED a character that much. The intro was so strong, with the memory mechanic. And then it was never really used after that. There's a lot of very high highs and very low lows. Overall, I loved Bozja, due to mechanics, cool fights and good rewards, and a couple of cool moments.

Around 48:45 I love the Marderville storyline... *BUT I HATE THIS PLOT TWIST!* This wasn't necessary, just leave it at the gag comedy it was, we didn't needed a canon reason for the stuff we see, as someone who loves lore and stories, there is a limit to everything... Explaining the Marderville's ridiculous physical strength wasn't necessary.

Dawntrail doesn't look like it's going to be anything more than the same mismanagement and bland content of Endwalker. Reminds me of SE when they launched 1.0. The sub isn't even worth it anymore because there's so much more value in WoW now because it has several games for the same sub, plus in game items to choose from. I'm a 1.0 player that stuck with the game and I'm pissed they're falling back into their old ways.

"beach episode" expansion is a terrible mistake imo. it's the definition of meaningless filler and having the official stance being that this expansion will be nothing but filler has already, from the get go, lowered the importance of the xpac. ask anyone what their favorite part of an anime is and im willing to bet "the beach episode" is not an answer. It already feels like the "skippable" expansion just like beach episodes are skippable. ...also the girl at the top of the key art is Beatrix, im not kidding, compare the 2.

I think thats an unfair statement, they need to set new factions and the New World is a great starting point to build off. Think of this expansion as introducing the new Limsa, Uldah, and Gridania.

With all due respect, you couldn't be more wrong. If you have seen the different areas of Tural, it is more than clear that this is everything but a beach episode like you call it. This meaningless filler topic has spread like wildfire and I don't understand why, like, guys, just do some research, or watch the fanfests. Square Enix has played with us, they told us in the beginning that this would be the "vacation" expansion but after they showed us all that is coming, the different areas and such they changed their dialogue to... "Maybe there's more to it?", I mean, could it be more obvious?

That word: Filler, is horribly misused. It's not about having a perfectly good reason(s) all the darn time. It's about the world building that is literally happening. MMOs are like a fantasy life simulator. You can't always have exciting moments and sharp/logic connections all the time. Things must be taken at a steady pace. Not all part of a fantasy life will be *gripping*. Skippable expansion? Hah not likely. Also this isn't an Anime And it's not just a beach episode... we're going to the FFXIV version of America. (Both north and south)

Whe dont even know yet, how this story will look. Did whe expected the content from shadowbringer and the ancient ones? Or the whole Meteion story, when it looked more, that Zodiac would be the main thread in endwalker? The vacation setting is only the start set up. There is enough room, to make it interessting or to set up strings for the new bigger arc (like this cyberpunk looking area could be a good set up). Whe even has some Ascian left, who could do something. Even, when i hope, that they stay low for the next time (they have multiple others world left to chill). This story concept is at last for me exactly that, what i hoped. After whe traveled to the end of the universe, saved a other world, prevent a thread of a other "other world" and libirated some countrys and destroyed one country, is it time, to go back to the roots and have something more grounded again. Let the WoL be a normal advanture again and have only a country level story to solve. It will probally not be like endwalker, who finished a whole arc. But, it has the potential to be like heavensward. Or, to be like ARR/Stormblood. I allready feared, that the 6.1-5 Story would lead to a story, where the border between the world would break. And, that whe would have to deal with a invasion of the void sents. What would probally lead to the neutralising of the darkness and returning the void sent back to normal people (what would lore wise be the end of most monster, who the people would have to deal with).
