Khalid Uthman compiled the Quran according the the same hadith because he feared it would be lost because so many of those who could recite it were killed. So your hundreds of thousands narrative is completely at odds with the account. You don't even have a full version of the Quran from the Uthman era anyway, your oldest full Quran dates from about 100+ years after Mo died, and its simply propaganda or a delusion that can make you think the version you have to day is "original" , even surviving early fragments lack diacritical marks and more, such that its modern meaning is added and not present in what we can see of the earliest texts.

We use the Golden chain of narration to identify who was truthful and who wasn’t a system you don’t understand. But not everyone believes what you believe in, so we try to reason with each other by trying to bring proof or counter proof. I can't prove or disprove much about waraqa. But I heard that your traditions say he used to be a pagan then converted to Christianity. I don't think you even know which group it was that converted him. And I don't think your traditions say what book or books he used to read/copy. So, neither you nor I can really prove anything much about him or the group he got his manuscript copies from. Quran just means a reading, proclaim, or recitation. Some say it comes from the Syriac. But the sense I am using it in is in response to when Muslim holds up a printed Hafs Quran and says "Look! This is the Quran. We Muslims only have one Quran in the entire world. Go to any mosque in the world and you will find their copy of Quran is exactly the same as mine - word for word, letter for letter, dot for dot." And BTW, there is not a single verse in Quran that explicitly say Tawrah, Injil, nor Zabur are corrupted.

@@lotsofqurans The Quran is an oral recitation, meaning Muslims don’t rely on ink and paper. Now through my experience I’ve been to many different Masjids and the recitation of the Quran is the exact same place to place. That’s my personal experience. The claim is that the Quran is the exact same in every corner of the world, there are 7 different Qiraats of the Quran, meaning variations, there are slight differences in pronunciation depending on where you are from, however the meaning stays the exact same, which is explained using Hadiths. Now before we accept a Quran or a translated Quran we look at who published it and what credentials they have so we can rely on that specific Quran. Again in Islam there is the Golden chain of narration and it only doesn’t apply to Hadiths but it also applies to a Hafiz (Quran memorizer) We check who taught that person, and then who taught the one who’s teaching that person and it goes on and on until the time of the prophet (pbuh) and his companions. We can verify this chain as well. Now how the chain works is kinda complex but in short summary every person in the chain of narration must be considered knowledgeable and TRUSTWORTHY, and there is a criteria to determine those characteristics/attributes. Many claims in the Quran are based on belief, your right about that. I converted to Islam a couple years back because of the Ring structure of the Quran, it’s solutions to world problems specifically in the West, and the strict worship of 1 God. It’s rational to me. But, we can definitely know that the Quran hasn’t been changed and all Qurans published can be referenced wether they are correct or altered.

@@denohart4929 yes, the Hafs reading is probably the most popular reading, so you will mostly hear that. But other readings still exist. You will probably hear a Warah or Qaloon reading if you were to go to Algeria or Morocco. Sometimes you will find certain words missing when you compare Hafs to Warsh. Sometimes, the difference in pronunciation does makes a difference in meaning. Today, there are 10 accepted readings. But before that, there were 7 that were accepted. It's probably better to call them 'Canonical readings' coz they were chosen by certain scholars of the past. I heard that they chose these readings because their number starting to baloon out of control and each reader had some differences from his colleague. To limit the number of readngs, scholars limited the number of narrators for each of the seven famous Qari. For example, Hafs' colleague would be Sho'ba. They both say narrate from Aasim. But they are not 100% identical to each other. They had other colleagues who [also say they narrate from Aasim] who had their own differences as well. So there was no uniformity. p.s. When you hear the the number 7, it doesn't refer to the number of quranic readings but it refers to the number of persons/scholars. I.e., Aasim is one of the 7. But there is no quranic reading of "Aasim". the common denominator among these readings is that they are said to represent one of different manuscript copies Uthman was said to have sent to the different areas of the muslim empire. This means that the aural nature of Quran is kind of getting mixed in with a written form. And any reading that would be accepted would have to conform to the one of these uthanic manuscripts. But what about the time before the uthmanic manuscripts? Some hadiths record other companions readings that do not fit into the script that was imposed by the uthmanic manuscripts. So it sounds like, gradually, certain kinds of readings began to die out.
