Contessa Classic was one of the stylish cars of its era... For those interested Its predecessor is the British car, Vauxhall Victor which is the Holden Kingswood in Australia. These cars are hardly sen ion British road; however, it's still seen in Australia. Mammootty once owned a Contessa car with the reg no KCF 369.. The voice got faded due to the volume of the BGM.. It is VAUXHALL body with ambasador chassis and engine(just 1500 cc OHV) that was underpowered for a car of this size and weight!.It labours to run and ambles to 60kmph after15 seconds!.If they have supercharged or turbocharged the engine,it's horse power output would have doubled for a cost of 20-30000Rs in 1990prices!. Unfortunately,the penny pinching Marwari who count each and every Paisa had no gumption to do it!.
