Many of us called for a real primary. Not because I dislike Biden, but because we are a democracy and we should embrace voting.

Lifelong 65 y.o. Democrat here that registered unaffiliated when I moved to North Carolina last year. The corrupt, establishment DNC, the BIDEN CAMPAIGN and state party Democratic leadership CANCELLED the Dem primary here, in LA, TN and FL. They DISENFRANCHISED millions of voters in their UNAMERICAN edict. It's on my list of why I won't vote for Biden, behind his funding of Israel's genocide. Declining age-related health was about FIFTH on my list but it shot up to number two after Thursday's "performance". As many pundits have pointed out, Biden needed to do 2 things in the debate: assuage fears about his advancing age and clear mental deficiencies AND show us he can take on Donvictx34. And he failed on both.

If you recall, we did not have a real primary in 2020 either. We had Sanders and Buttigieg emerging as frontrunners - and then Biden won his first primary EVER (he had run for president before) and there was a scripted anointing of Biden as the nominee - as Dem candidates were coerced to drop out and support him. And now we have two candidates on the ticket - one with increasingly severe dementia and the other wildly unpopular - neither of which can stop Trump. The only scenario worse than a Trump win - is a landslide Trump win where he claims a mandate. That is where we are headed - all because Joe and Jill are too full of ego to have Joe step down for the good of the nation.

@@danlambesis1289 You have all allowed this to happen… I am a lifelong conservative and in support of Trump as a protest vote against the RINO’s. We are taking our party in a different direction now. No more Bush’s, Romney’s, Mc Cain’s, Mc Connell’s, etc. it’s a work in progress and requires all of the supporters attention. I suggest that you do the same in the democrat party. All of the leadership has failed you! Get rid of the boomers and find your new path with the next generation. Best wishes to you! You have four years to work on it.

People are just concerned about the election and the next 4 years. But after what the world witnessed on Thursday night, can Biden finish his term? I do not see someone who can even select the right floor if he gets into an elevator. I am not a hater, just a realist.

As a medical professional who has dealt with patients that truly have dementia, I just think Joe is old. The function of an 81 or 78 year old is not the same as a 50 to 60 year old. There is an aging process for everyone, even your dog or cat. It is a normal phase of living, and a privilege denied to many. I think it is hard for Jill to see as this is her beloved husband, but it is up to family to look out for their loved one now. He has to do all the work and perform when he should be resting and enjoying retirement. It is too much. Wish he would have decided not to run from the get go, but it is done. Now hard decision need to be made. My heart is so heavy for the wonderful man and great President. He deserves better. But will always vote Blue.

Agree I thought she was talking to him like he was a kid. It made me feel so sad . He deserves so much more. It is most likely very hard for her to acknowledge but she must look out for him and retain his dignity. That schedule alone is hard for a younger man and this is too much for someone in his age group. Rumpf doesn’t feel it cuz he has NO POLICIES and just yaps with no substance, but he looks so old and haggered. He wouldn’t know how to govern he is a puppet for the Federalist Society. They must be stopped. Hope the right thing is done. Shaking my head how did this happen to us.

If Biden stays then I’m not voting. I have no problem abstaining because I did it in 2016 and I’ll do it again in this election. I’m done with piss poor candidates to vote for. The U.S deserves better.

It was a stark contrast . I truly believe if he got the exposure, he would be our next president. Both parties only have fear. When you actually look at them on the policy, it’s a very narrow window between Biden and Trump. I think people would actually be surprised how narrow the window actually is.

Biden needs to resign as POTUS and give up on the election. He's just too old and infirm. People can easily name a dozen more qualified choices like Gavin, Liz Warren, Mayor Pete (my personal favorite), Kamala, and a host of others. Biden doesn't even know where he is without a teleprompter to tell him. He's senile and lost.

In the post debate rally Biden is reading from a teleprompter, he seems to do better with that, but is't not an age thing, it's a health issue thing. Geraldo Rivera is going to be 81 in July and the gap between him and Biden is enormous!

Contested convention is the only chance in my view. The Biden's seem so surrounded by supporters I can't see Biden having the courage to do it. No perfect candidate and they give up the Incumbancy advantage, but Josh Shapiro, Wes Moore, Whitman, Blinken ? Are all possibilities in my view

He cannot love the country if he continues. His friends, colleagues and loved one cannot either. On another note, as someone with a master's in eighteenth-century studies, might I suggest an amendment to the Constitution limiting presidents to age 70? Even that is generous. When the Const. was writ, the lifespan was late 40s. Don't you think Benjamin Franklin and James Madison would be asking for the hook now?
