I started knitting again a few weeks ago after not knitting at all since I was a kid. Because I was so new and out of practice, I taught myself continental knitting when I read how much faster it could be. My tensioning isn't great and when I get stuck doing something complicate I do sometimes pass the working yarn back to my right hand for sections. But for simple stockinette in the round, I think continental is amazing :)

Hi Megan, I'm so happy to hear you picked up knitting again! Keep at continental knitting - your tension will improve a lot the more you keep practicing! 😀

Keep working on your tension. Like so many skills, you just keep getting better and better.

@@nobleknits Hi Nancy! I've kept up with the knitting projects and I've definitely gotten better with my tensioning, just holding the yarn differently in my left hand. I watched your tensioning video too and I realized I was totally knitting at the tips of my needles. Shifting my work back has helped a lot already :)

My normal way of knitting is through the back loop😊Thank you for the video, I love the way you teach 😊

I don't knit continental style (my hands don't allow it) but it's great to know that it will turn a stitch the proper direction. All this time I've stopped and turned each stitch around whenever I have goofed. Great time saver!

Thank you. I seriously thought that I was doing it wrong. I’m glad that I checked early on the row so I only have to frog 4 stitches and not the whole darn row, lol.

I knit all my continental through the back loop. If a pattern tells me to kbl, should I knit through the front to get the same effect?

Ah - was hoping you had a vid for Ptbl. I'm in the process of switching from English after 20 yrs and your videos have been perfect! But this Ptbl is a tad frustrating... :/

I've watched some knitting videos in Spanish, and knitting through the back loop is their normal method. Does it make any difference to the final product?

I’ve tried to watch this many times, still moves too fast for me. I can’t even understand how you are holding the yarn. ☹️
