Drew, in Indonesia there is a former volcanic lake in the island of Sumatra and it's called the Toba Volcano and now it's the biggest volcanic lake, Toba Lake. I think you confuse with Tambora eruption (1815). Toba-event was the biggest eruption in human history ca. 75,000 years ago and almost brought humanity to the brink of extinction.
