That is awesome on how you handled all that and were aware of your surroundings and stayed safe. That steel one looks like a BEAST hopefully the farmer doesn't want that on all 4 wheels 😂 You did a great job along with your Student Helper. Love the shop looks very organized and clean. 😊

@@wolverine89893 thank you sir!! It’s a work in progress. Haha, I sure hope he doesn’t want it on all 4. Apparently this side is common to fail and this is the second time in this tractors life. But now with this steel upgrade it should be the last

Nice to see they are making aftermarket axle housings. Definitely looks better than a cast piece. It looked like it happened before, unless you wrote on the piece. Thanks for the video.

@@PrairieMechanic hopefully the steel piece holds up. Probably be doing the other side next. Those machines probably have a bunch of hours on them by now. I worked at a AGCO Allis dealer in the mid nineties, you seen very few machines with over 10K hours, now that’s low houred, depending on your area. Been watch Warren for years, got your video recommendation, I subscribed. Be safe out there.

Thanks for the video. I looked through the comments and the description, but did not find any pertinent info on the supplier of the new fabricated piece. If you could share that info, it would be helpful. Thanks again. Take care.

What I have found to be exactly true is when your working on ANY piece of heavy equipment and your in a constant state of fear you are almost setting your self up perfectly for something to go wrong .. I find if I'm deliberate in my actions using my commonsense and 55 yrs of experience . I DON"T PLACE MYSELF in fearful situation's But working along side someone whop is constantly saying I hope it doesn't drop or fall on me often times get exactly that ...

Just a friendly suggestion, don’t stick your finger in the end of the socket to remove the nut, seen a video where that didn’t end well, Thanks for the video
@Bristolcentaurus2 ай бұрын
it does not end well especially when the sockets worn and the nut wants to tip and lock in fingers don't make good thread pitch gauges

Is it the jackstands you're pensively looking back at from time to time?!
@PrairieMechanic2 ай бұрын
@@pontustengvall6767 yes I wanted to make sure nothing was trying to shift or anything with the weight of the duals shifting as the bolts came lose. In hindsight I would have done it differently. I also would like to build another few big pads like what’s on the one side and use those big wide stands more. But this was really uneven and rough ground. Hard to make it perfect. And easy to worry when your in a field all alone. I try to be as safe as possible but always room for improvement.
@pontustengvall67672 ай бұрын
@@PrairieMechanic@PrairieMechanic Not my intention to critique you in any way! Just took me a while to figure out what you were looking at! Yeah, always room for improvement and addition too the tools you bring with you. But oftentimes the job you arrive at differs vastly from what you were told, or the issue is something completely new to us, and for me that's the fun part; solving a new problem with the tools and know-how you brought with you! Keep up the great job and please keep sharing it with us!

@PrairieMechanicАй бұрын
@ didn’t leave the machine supported on a jack at any time. No weight on yellow bottle jack under the axle. Only one holding weight was the one pushing the axle down, not much you can do about that and no risk of falling and crushing me.
