Cool project! Thanks for sharing. You said an alternative method to test continuity would be to measure Ohms with a multimeter. But I haven't seen a multimeter that didn't have an integrated continuity mode. I use that to test continuity. Awesome project nonetheless!

Why did you put the 555 ic? Wouldn't is work with just a simple circuit of a battery - buzzer - probe - probe then back ti battery? Why the 555? Sorry I don't understand?

No, i just got it, he used a speaker which needs the quick on/off oscillation of the 555 output to make the speaker audible. A buzzer just needs voltage but not everyone has one lying about. If you have an old pc you will find one in there which you would be able to use instead of the 555 ic. I think a buzzer would be more common in households than a 555 ic so there's another way to do it.

very nice thank you please can you make video about making mechanical rectifier of 220v ac to 220v dc ? it would be so great if one idea works , for example convert ac motor to a rectifier , or ac electromagnet when the wave is positive it attract two wires and when the wave is negative it attract switched wires (using a permanent magnet so the electromagnet attract only only one wave) , i think a capacitor is needed to shift the ac wave , drive.google.com/open?id=1M47HoFsmEbV9Cmnw3tIYw2tmWD2XISRm please reply for any advice or idea thank you very much.
