I feel like this also could be a consideration for your spindle motor too! How much torque is applied to the motor continuously, or if its in small bursts

I'd like to see some sources on this, or some independant testing. I believe that there must be some effect, but what is the magnitude? Is it really better / worse than the increased number of entry/exits? I have a spindle with a vibration sensor and I can see that entry and exists always have increased vibration. I could see maybe in a slotting operaiton where it's harder to get coolant, but if you have 500psi through spindle coolant and the appropriate toolholder to make sure the coolant gets deliered to the tool, then even at that point is it an issue. Finally, does the increased cycle time pay for the tool?

In Fusion 360 Adaptive you have a parameter called stayDownDistance which should combat this particular thing, so it becomes more tool path independent!

Can you do a video on machining titanium castings that are thin walled and the wall thickness varies while in the cut? Axial varies depending on feature from .250 to 1". Max wall thickness .375 ,min wall .1 Thanks.

Sorry, but the more time in the cut, the more efficient you are. Cutting air doesn't make you money. I understand the issue about heating up the tool, of course you have to be conscious of it, but the time in cut has never been a part of SFM calculation as far as I know, and I've not observed issues with it (this is not 2023 thinking I guess!). For me, time in cut is money.
