Cool thing I've discovered, I wear a headscarf for religious reasons, and the placement of the scarf along my forehead and the sides of my face can sort of contour my face a bit, shortening my forehead and making nice angles along my cheeks and my jaw. If you wear hats or headscarves highly recommend experimenting with that

I don't interact much with videos, but since contour has always been beyond me in my makeup game, I felt that your techniques fit my style a bit better than other MUAs who go for dramatic transformations where your use of a shadow tone contour with an appropriate amount of product really made the contour itself look really natural, as to compliment your natural features rather than change them altogether. Well done! In the side-by-side comparison, it really shows the subtle changes the contour did, instead of the surreal dramatic changes other makeup artists do with their makeup.

Would you ever do a video on how to use contouring to accentuate your features? For example, I have wide cheekbones and I don't want to make them look narrow, just a more enhanced version of what they are. All the contouring content I have found is about downplaying your prominent features
@jenessastrickland1555 Жыл бұрын
I don’t contour much, but I love these videos where you show side by side comparisons! Whether I use them or not, it’s interesting to see these tips and then see the results.
@ninav3454 Жыл бұрын
this is pure gold content, thank you! So many tutorials just say Heart shape do this, oval shape do that! And for a long time i wondered why nothing works for me. That’s the answer - your face shape is unique and you will rarely find a face that fits exactly into those schemes you see on the internet. Also, your face changes shape ever so slightly as you grow older and/our gain or lose weight too. So always gotta adjust your routine. This video is very helpful for that. ❤

Someone once commented on the 'brown haze' on the side of my face. I haven't contoured since then, and I'm dead sure I put on a very little amount that day. I have a wide face shape and should contour the sides, but I'm afraid other people will notice like last time :(

I havent been able to make contour work in person either even with the sheerest contour products and a light hand. "Why is your face dirty"
@user-oi8qx7ig4c Жыл бұрын
Try using a cooler toned contour and use your fingers to blend. I know brushes and beauty sponges are most fashionable now, but your fingers give you the most control and can make the blend look more natural
@momoratime2956 Жыл бұрын
the tips in the other replies are good, and also you can play around with having contour beneath your foundation, but also: i personally only do contour when it's either night time or i have a really photo-heavy event! it's true that trying to make contour look super seamless in daylight can be tricky. evening makeup is a lot more forgiving.

Are you using the right shades for your skin tone? It makes a lot of difference, try to match your shadow's colour
@KeilaBevins Жыл бұрын
Have you tried putting the foundation over the contour? I think I saw a video that said to do it like that. I think maybe the foundation blends the contour to make it look more natural or something. Idk if I remember correctly.

I don’t know if you’re accepting video suggestions, but if so, I need a ten-minutes-tops workday makeup routine that helps me look my best without sacrificing professionalism (or sleep!). Allright professor! I have a question for you! Should I change my contour in relation to the way I style my hair? Sometimes I like to wear a slick ponytail, other times I style my bangs in a 90's blowout, adding a lot more volume which I think makes a big difference in terms of face shape. What do you think? Ps I really really love your channel, so helpful and pleasant to watch ❤
