God I love the weapon upgrade system in this game. It's one of the reasons that this is my favorite Contra. Seeing two players both go ham with powered-up weapons on a boss is super satisfying. Total decimation.

Re-watching this vid after trying to make a 2 player run on hard mode, I have a couple of questions. - How does the game not lag in your run? We tried to play on DSi/3DSXL, 3DSXL/3DSXL, 3DSXL/New3DS, New3DS/New3DS and it ALWAYS lags in a few places. - There are quite a few places where it looks like some kind of TAS. I'm not sure if it's even possible to TAS Nintendo DS multiplayer games but it just doesn't look like you knew what you were doing and you still got no damage and didn't even stop. I'm talking about parts like 15:38. There are other moments like that. Was it pure luck or what?

That's probably about the fact that they already practiced a lot to speedrun Contra 4, and also that Mr. K (The guy who played with him in this video) did also do a no-death speedrun in Contra 4 in 2012 (1 year before this run).

Watching the first level and...why does the music sound different? When I play the game, the music in the first level sounds different than what I hear in your video. I have the NTSC version of the game but it looks like you have the same version.

In Hard mode, the game uses a remix of the original nes Contra jungle theme on the first level.
