I was watching the video in the hopes of being able to understand the basics of it but, I actually fully understand it now!.. Thank you John!

That is awesome! Each object type has it's own unique features, but I'm glad you learned a lot from this light fixture sample!

And that is why making object libraries is a job itself. 😄Anyway, awesome tutorial.

Thanks Ricardo! Yes it definitely could be a full time job for someone who wants to pursue that career path:)

Is it possible to make a window with which you can set the exact position and amount of sidelights and skylights within the settings? My company wants to use schemes to generate window drawings automatically, but the architects say this isn't possible since they combine different windows together sometimes.

Hi there, Library Part Maker LPM is nice in ArchiCAD........ but HOW can i make Fix points in the 3d model?......... Plz Help thx!!!

Is there any benefit in using Library Part Maker vs Param-O or vice versa? Or is it just two different tools to get to the same outcome?
@CONTRABIM2 жыл бұрын
Param-o has a much better ability to create parametric inputs, LPM is a little easier to use and has cleaner options for setting up different Model View Options. Definitely not the same outcome, just depends on what type of object you're going for! If you want highly detailed manufacturer based objects, probably LPM is the way to go. If you want objects that are parametric yet simpler geometry, Paramo might be the way...

@@CONTRABIM Can I use them both in one object? There is any way for transition of gdl between addons?

Hi, I have issue with this one, and would appreciate some help. I can't change dimensions of object I made, it takes original dimensions of made object and won't let me adjust it later (width, depth, height)🥴
@CONTRABIM Жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes that is one of the downsides of LPM, fixed dimensions. It's great to create detailed objects exact per manufacturer spec, but to adjust dimensions later is not much of an option unfortunately! Thanks for the question! I wish Graphisoft would introduce some additional variables that we can stretch/scale based on set dimensions. One day maybe...

i'm 20 minutes in most of it is still trying to get the outline of that damn light fixture. i don't mind watching a 70minute video, but i'd appreciate if this was edited to just using the Library Part Maker. perhaps a good chunk of this could've expanded onto other parts of the tool -- or even another object altogether? perhaps an object solely for 2D drafting / annotation use? prep work could've already been done in the background where the outline was already set & we could've jumped straight into the tool itself. 40mins in, still doing drafting work & little explanation of how this relates to the tool. i'm struggling to keep my attentions span with the constant disruptions to a slow/lagging computer & parts of it that isn't really closely related to the subject of the video, which is the Library Part Maker -- more "related-adjacent". i'm starting to think this video was streamed (?). i'm also starting to think that this was the wrong subject to stream with & it should've been properly edited. also, i would've preferred if it was a simpler object that was created Focus on the tool -- not the object modelling. explain why things are set up within the tool, what to do, what not to do, & why it's better one way & not the other. at the end of the video (phew, finally) yes, i completely agree. i would love a course on this. apologies for sounding mean, but this was frustrating to watch. a little bit enlightening, but far more frustrating with all the distractions.

Thanks for the comment and feedback. Totally understand the frustration of watching a longer non-edited video. I find some people prefer to see all the clicks (and even the mistakes), and others just want the fast shorted version. Happy to boil down the subject to a 5 minute video next time. Appreciate the feedback!

@@mr.m2267 I'm happy to hear that, and also to mention that I just figured out how to record each shortcut I make in AC, so now that'll be displayed on all KZbin videos going forward! Thanks for your comment!

@@CONTRABIM if you mean that we can see on the screen which keys you press, that's perfect, because I couldn't understand how you did some of the things you did with the keyboard. 🙄

it is so silly that this is a 'paid' feature, on top of the existing fee for AC.

I think it's free for everyone right? Just download it from the Graphisoft site... no extra costs involved!
