Used to be a tile contractor and whenever a customer suggested buying their tile from a big box store I informed them that they would have to purchase it and be responsible for all the quantities being correct and the delivery. Real contractors have relationships with the distributors who work to keep them satisfied. The Home Depot’s just want to sell product.
@jack2e3 жыл бұрын
That scam won't work because the contractor purchased the appliances with the customers' credit card on file. then returned the goods and expected a refund. The refund would either go back to the clients' credit card or check sent to his home. The contractor would just waste his time for nothing. Nice story though...I like watching your videos Big Mike and if I lived near Bridgeport I'd look into working with you. I'm far away on Long Island and I own a cab company. But keep these videos coming I like your sense of dealing with your customers. Good work. Customer Service is the name of the game. Have a great day.

I used to insulate Ryland houses being built. We hated it when the Contractors always scheduled everyone in the houses at the same time. We'd be insulating walls and ceilings and it would never fail in would come a load of sheet rock and get piled where we were working. We started by flipping piles of sheet rock over even if it was damaged then we started opening all the bags of fiberglass and walking off the jobs leaving the contractors to deal with loose fiberglass. Eventually they got the idea and stopped overlapping contractors until their jobs were finished. I remember a few houses that had major repairs because another thing we would do to get revenge was collect scrap electrical boxes and wire and mount them into the walls and cut the insulation around them then the sheet rock crew would mold them into the walls and at punch-out they would find out it was a fake switch or outlet and have to cut the wall open and repair it.

I work with Penske multiple different accounts my bosses just pay for the rental agreement everything else is paid by customer and shipper. He only pays his time and energy to get money, the negative of Penske is your basically a owner operator so u have to take the truck in Everytime something is wrong and wait to get a temp truck or come back next day to pick up the truck missing delivery money or making your day really long

We had a girl working Cust service at an automotive store that started in Philly with 3 men I won't name. The FBI came into the store one day and hauled her out in cuffs because she had a block of silly putty under the counter and was imprinting peoples credit cards and racking up charges online. That was before they made it possible for people to scan their own cards without giving them to the cashier.

when you go with the lowest bidder on things, there is a good/bad reason for their price. it is either not going to get done right or not at all. like paying for materials and the contractor pockets the money and runs.

That storey of the contractor didn't make any sense? Why would he return something then get a check to buy it back then have it ship to his house? And if the customer bought it with their credit card the store would just put it back to the credit card. It would make more sense if the contractor stole stuff from the customer & returned it without a receipt then the store gave him a credit on a Home Depot card then bought something else with the credit,, I know I do it all the time

What's the max weight that you're forklift can pick up?
@SaffordDelivery3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure exactly what the specifications say but if the forklift weighs 6200 lb empty not including the weight of the fuel and the driver you figure it has to be able to have enough power to lift at least those three to mount onto the back of the trailer so I would have to say maybe about 10k. I've only maxed out the forklift capacity two to three times that I can remember
@davidzamora44233 жыл бұрын
Wow 10k? That's kinda small for that weight. Thank you for answering my question.
We had a contractor that wanted to pick up and bill us for fence boards and nails for the mail Gun. Said he needed 3 boxes of nails and 2x the boards. I figured out how many boards and nails he needed. Do I went with him and watched what boards he got. Told him no more nails he could use the ones left from the other part of fence since I knew how many nails n boards he would need. BTW I paid for this bunch. He was pulling that on everyone he did jobs for.
@SaffordDelivery3 жыл бұрын
🤦♂️ good thing you got him! But in our line of work in our fairness we always see contractors ordering more than enough than not enough and it's because once the job gets started it's very important to have enough material on-site especially if mistakes are going to be made and they are called mistakes for a reason so it's better to have more than enough than not enough because labor is very expensive to just have standing around

In your videos, your shirts are rarely, if at all visible. That's your wife complaining! 😆 In my world, contractors start in two categories, licensed and unlicensed. It breaks down even further, but I'll spare you for now. If you're licensed and are doing unethical behavior there'll be serious consequences and the homeowner will have recourse. Unlicensed contractors won't have bonds, insurance, and credibility. If you don't thoroughly check out a contractor, you may suffer the consequences. Where ever the appliances were bought shouldn't be refunding money to just anyone if they were bought with a bank credit or debit card. Sounds fishy to me. More details please and include the name of the retailer. If they did nothing wrong you won't need to protect them.
