DAY 15. 100DOD CONTRADICTIONS IN THE BIBLE? One thing about people who try to look for contradictions in the bible is that they have a faulty perspective on bible inspiration, they believe that because it is the word of God, human expressions can not be found in it. For example, Matthew 27 and Acts 1:18 gave two different details or descriptions as regards how Judas died, but by in-depth study, we see that it's just a corroboration and not a contradiction. And so, there is what we call corroborative information, and so you need to know the difference between corroboration and contradiction. Again, the bible is the word of God and fully inspired by him but interpreted differently by the writers [corroborative]. TWO THINGS TO NOTE 1. According to the jewish traditions, it is taboo to touch dead bodies. Num 9:11. It is also proven scientifically that if a body was left untouched, it explodes. 2. Corroborative information and contradictions are totally different. Stories are told based on what we think is more important than what we think should receive the spotlight.

DAY 15 CONTRADICTIONS IN THE BIBLE EXAMPLE 1: Matt 27, Acts 1 v 16-18 : Talking about Judas Iscariot; those were two different accounts yet some people will see it as a contradiction. Context: Watching the same news on different channels to get more information; the difference is perspectives. • The book of Matthew was emphazizing that Judas died by suicide. • The book of Acts was talking about what happened to his body. Num 19 v 11 EXAMPLE 2 : Matt 28 v 1, Mark 16 v 1, Luke 24 v 10 , John 20 v 1: The women at the tomb after Jesus' death; it was corroborative information not a contradiction. There is a difference between a contradiction and a corroboration, just because the Bible is the word of God doesn't mean all the details of events must be mentioned strictly because that's how humans share stories; we tell stories based on what we think is importanand what we think should receive the spotlight.

Hello Pastor and the Media team behind this channel. Firstly, I want to really appreciate you for this platform and the teachings going on here. I'd like to APPEAL that the 100 DOD videos be arranged sequentially in the playlist to make it easy for those who didn't begin from the start to be able to go back and bing watch all previous episodes. Also, it would make it A LOT EASIER to know the day you're on if the video thumbnails are updated with the graphics of each day such as "DAY 1", DAY 2", "DAY 3" and so on. God bless you abundantly sir. And kudos to the team. ❤🙌

Thank you, Pastey, for discussing this topic. It is illuminating. Would you please address the questions of contradiction concerning killing in the Bible? When I go out on Evangelism, I have been sometimes asked why God commanded Israel to wipe out all the Canaanites (including women and children) and dwell in their land. God gave a similar instruction to Saul concerning the Amalekites, and we see the record of Sodom and Gomorrah as well. People query the goodness of a God who 'ordered' these killings, and also, His presumed 'hatred'for the Sodomites. I would really appreciate your perspective about these scenarios. Thank you sir!
@TheGodworship8 ай бұрын
In my opinion i know that God is not wicked for giving those instructions. When God is ready to place judgement on his enemies He won't leave left overs, no wonder David said he would rather fall into the hands of man than that of God (His wrath). Maybe if God had left the children or women of Amalekities they would have bore hatred in them and committed more atrocities than the former. The same goes for Sodom, in there case God was ready to even save them but they didn't meet the requirements(Abraham's negotiation). If He had left some of Sodom, the remnant would have become a thorn.
@subominehemiah-fj1ns8 ай бұрын
God can make alive, He can kill. There are more theological explanations (I presume) which I don't have specific references to and may not be able to directly address your question, but ultimately, God can do anything He wants to. He killed Jesus - "gave up his begotten son...". He'll kill death (which humans fear the most) at the end of times, and so He remains supreme, above all, above death. That's why He's eternal. And so, the focus should not be the killings...the bible isn't loud on it, but kore of what happened as a result of the killings - "essence" over "method". The bible is loud and screaming on the focus of the Good News - Christ's death and resurrection which has given us access to God as sons, furthermore, a mandate to fulfill - for we no longer live for ourselves, but for Christ. Side with God💪🏽.
@mfonumoh60558 ай бұрын
@@subominehemiah-fj1ns Thats a difficult one- even though we dont want to paint an incomplete picture to the people we evangelise to, its hard to convince people to follow a God who apparently engages in so many killings- including children- and mind you there were no guns there so we are talkin stabbling, beheading etc- bible scholars have volunteered many explanations for this- one of which is your own take here- others think the bible writers were writing in a similar style of their own day- its said that back then they would usually exaggerate their achievements so as to instill fear into their enemies, others say the accounts themselves may not be literarily true- which is a possibiltiy given that all accounts in the bible are not deemed historical by scholars, some are poetry, parables etc written to exhort in some way
@myawakeone3 ай бұрын
Hi. For these instances that you mentioned, I think it’s important to understand the context behind it. Many who bring up such arguments (that are now popularized to use as weapons against Christians) pick a specific verse without understanding the context behind it. God is not a man (you’ve probably completed this course and seen the video where Pastor Iren talks about this I think it’s day 100). God is the giver of all life, and so when He chooses to take it, He is justified. Some of these people that had to be wiped out were inherently sinful. And God is a just God who cannot behold sin. He wiped off these people at the root. Besides, who are we to judge and debate His “goodness.” People tend to fixate much on God’s “faults” or “murders” and less on His love. You’d see in the Old Testament that God was slow to anger. Imagine the kind of evil and wickedness one had to do to cause a God that’s slow to anger and full of mercy to execute the judgements of death. In conclusion, God’s “killings” are justified because He is God. There are reasons behind everything He does, some explained, some not. God is also a God of order. He wouldn’t do things on a whim. He doesn’t hate mankind either (Ezekiel 33). My advice is that you pick those texts you referenced and read the full story to gain the whole context so you can better defend or rather counter the things people are saying, praying to God that their hearts are opened to receiving the truth and understanding and not just for the sake of argument and or mockery. God bless you. Have a great day.

The Bible is full of eye witness accounts and that there are different perspectives of the same story is not contradicting but rather corroborative, meaning that the different accounts support each other. - Day 15! My ability to defend the Bible is growing stronger. Thank you, Apostle. 🥳

Pastey just answered the question I have been asking myself about the differences in the way the authors of the books of the gospel provided their accounts, particularly that of the women at the tomb of Jesus. Beyond this example, I now have a general understanding of what to look for whenever I come across such scenarios in the Bible. They are corrobative information, not contradictions. Thank you Sir for this, I am grateful, Sir.

Thank you Pastey. There's a story in the Bible (about Jairus daughter) that felt contradictory, although my conclusion at the time was that the men that witnessed it, saw it differently hence the difference. But, going back to the story this morning, I realized that it is actually corroborative. One account just giving more information than the other and putting it together makes the story complete!! Thanks again.

I have learned so much!! I would recommend watching The Chosen. It shows how the disciples were different people and you can see how it makes sense for their accounts to be different. Matthew for example, was very educated and a tax collector, he was a facts and numbers guy so it makes sense that he starts his account by listing the genealogy.
@adigunmayowa55398 ай бұрын
I agree with you sir thanks for being such a blessing pastey 😊😊😊 Matthew saw Jesus as a king Mark saw him as a slave Luke saw him as a man John saw him as God or son of God That's why Matthew's account shows his genealogy and highlights king David and Abraham in that lineage in Matthew chapter 1 Mark doesn't because he is seen a slave of God there so no need for genealogy there Luke traces his genealogy to Adam because it shows Jesus as a man John doesn't have any genealogy because it highlights the divinity of the Christ and shows him as God and God wasn't born 😊😊😊

Your perspective or approach to reading the synoptic account is for corroboration. The Bible has no contradictions, the books in the synoptic gospel place emphasis on different points of an event, how be it, it is not a contradiction, they are corroborative information. With the corroborative accounts you have a fuller perspective. Thank you Sir!

Accountability Check In: Day 15/100 ✅ - Seeking contradiction in the Bible, is a proof of one's faulty perspective of Bible inspiration. - The account of Mary Magdalene and other women in the synoptic gospels where information that needs corroboration and weren't contradictions. - The gospels also had different focus and different audience. - Just because the Bible is the word of God doesn't mean every details will be mentioned strictly. Thank you sir 🔥
