The Screamer-Killer is the real star of the show for Leviathan and of course the Tyranids in general. He's big, he's dynamic, he's mean and he packs a hell of a punch on the tabletop. He's also a stunning visual centrepiece for any Tyranids collection as he wades through the battlefields of the 41st milliennium!

I’ve been so stressed painting my screamer killer. After watching this video it calmed me down and made me realize it’s supposed to be fun. Thanks for the reminder.

That's a chill intro music for a model that is literally named "Screamer-Killer" 😆

That blend on the skin on the head really helps mask how much flesh shows on the head, which is an issue I'm pretty sure I've seen about the new Screamer Killer head.

I saw your channel recommended a few times, but didn't watched any video until I started painting my Screamer Killer. Relatively new to mini painting (like 2 months give or take) and I don't own half of the paints in this video, but is still very useful and inspiring, also it helps me to understand how to use contrast paints. Great job, I hope one day I get results like this very soon 👍

I've really enjoyed your vids for a while now, very clear and informative! I'm going to start painting my own nids soon, I was wondering if you had any advice for doing an icy blue in the fleshy bits instead of the pink? I was thinking of starting with Pylar Glacier :)

Amazing. How much planning do you do for figuring out what works. Just such a superb job. Love what you do.

I've wondered this myself for a while. I imagine through his experience he can look at a color on the box art and already have a good idea what color or color mix would be closest. Also, there are those videos of figures that have multiples where he already has at least one painted, which I imagine also helps to know what works. Just from watching his videos for 2 years I have gotten a lot better at matching colors from looking at a reference photo.

Love the work man, following your expert guidance mine is nearly done! Can I just ask when doing the transitions on the arm is your paint brush just rinsed or actually clean and dabbed dry? I'm trying to avoide the dreaded tide mark's at the edge of transitions. Thanks in advance!

Hi mate. What do you do when the wraithbone spray just doesn't reach areas on the model? Just paint wraithbone on? Cheers
@Warhipster
@Warhipster 8 ай бұрын
Aye that’s right just brush on a bit from the pot. They’re very precisely colour matched however the one bit of advice I would give is make sure your water is 100% new and clean as it only takes a tiny bit of colour to affect Wraithbone from the pot

I'm enjoying following along to this and learning as a new painter. That said I cannot for the life of me figure out how you got that first layer to go on so smoothly fully covering in pink from the initial brushstroke. Mixing 1 part crimson with 3 part lahmian makes it so runny that the paint just all pools into the crevices and leaves any flat area's pretty much whitish and very lightly shaded. Definitely not getting a nice even pink cover in just one stroke as I can see on your video. What am I doing wrong? Bad prime job that doesn't make the paint stuck correctly (possible). Too much lahmian? Not enough lahmian? It does look much less pink and far more diluted with my mix than it does with yours. How are you transfering and mixing the paints? Brush from pot to dry palette?

Same, struggling with that first layer myself. Can't figure it out for the life of me.

Got an update for you. I went down to my local GW and asked the chaps there to see if they could figure out what I was doing wrong. It's definitely a dry palette and they mixed way more than they needed so that they could play around with the consistency and how much they loaded onto their brush. Whereas I was using a wet palette that diluted it more than it needed to be, as well as just not making enough to test out the consistency. I hope that helps, mate.

When it comes to the washes and contrasts I always give it an hour just to be safe. Everything else is typically fine within ten minutes.
