This is incredibly impressive, would love to see proper VR support for space engineers 2 at some point, as much as I'd love to see it for the first game I think its at the end of its life. SE VR is probably going to be a PCVR exclusive title, no chance it would run on the stand alone headsets.

Yea, for vr you are rendering the game twice, one for each display in the headset and as it's already a demanding game, probably the only way you'll be able to run it is having a absolute top of the line gaming pc, although there was a space engineers vr demo on steam that's worth checking out

I have been waiting for this imagine, a mobile suit imagine, ripping out peoples cockpits with space engineers physics *imagine the military possibilities, this is the future of warfare* I've always wanted something like this in space engineers, I hope we can work with it soon Edit: I realized that here I mentioned a mobile suit, while really, I should be thinking about building AC's, or even Next's! Like imagine the adrenaline of flying and dashing right above the ground, shooting low ground targets, GOING UNDER BRIDGES GODDAMMIT, and then grabbing a fighter right out of the sky and throwing it towards the ground. one practical application of this in SE, besides mechs, is welding arms. imagine a shipyard with 2 giant arms, your friend or even you methodically welding each block. Probably would be too laggy for servers, it being vr, but if the vr part was optimized it could be much more effective that welding walls. But yea, definitely looking forward to mech fights. imagine grabbing a fighter out of the air and throwing it into the ground.

in order to be more gentle with gripping things, rather than a full open or closed fist, having the grip slowly close when pressed and open when not seems like it would fix that issue

Feel like the grid based shield mod and the build repair mod are all that's missing for this to be useful for combat. But I do wanna see a smaller version that's only smaller than 10 LG blocks be used at a shooting range or abandoned city just to see if the game can handle it.

There has already been so much progress on his VR mechs. Recently, with the help of some tester, he's been able to make this for VR headsets and it works way smoother now, with human like hands now also being on the mech.

This is the most impressive thing i have ever seen in space engineers but i do see a lot of people saying combat is forever changed with this mech which really isnt because it needs to be able to flex the joints are very unarmored and exposed and adding more armor is going to be cumbersome for the pilot, second most combatants will be keeping a distance about at least 600 meters away so out of arms reach and this length is further extended if enemies have missiles plus due to it being manned by one person you can be easily be overwhelmed it would be nice to see 2 of these go at it itself being a combat worthy thing isnt likely
