Great technology, but I have to ask why would I spend 2X the cost of the X32R when I can get the same level of control the device with an external router and free tablet/phone apps?

Good question and one we will ultimately leave over to customers to answer. If you don't need or appreciate the features of WaveBoard for control of X32 you shouldn't buy it. This goes for any product of course. But WaveBoard is so much more than an X32 control surface with its ability to integrate any audio console, mix control of them, mix in control of video gear to and complete customization on top. WaveBoard is not designed for any specific device - it's a much larger vision and that's what you buy into. If that speaks to you, we welcome you as our customer! 🙂

@@SKAARHOJ - Thanks for the response. I would imagine this is a product that SR providers who [possibly] use/run multiple mixers from different vendors would find useful - given it's flexibility. The average band with a single mixer maybe mot?

It's intriguing how supporting an affordable product line with a premium control option is viewed by some as questionable.
