I love these videos! I was that kid that received a Cox Stuka for my birthday in the "early" seventies. Got a couple of buddies together, and we took it out to a field for it's first flight. We wrapped it around a power pole, and totally destroyed it within 15 minutes.😢 My dad never bought me another one for some reason. We were able to salvage the engine, and have some fun with that. The good old days! Thanks, and keep up the good work sir.

I learned on a cox plastic jobber. My first one was a bi-plane with an .20 that my aunt and uncle got me for my birthday. I couldn't fly it but my dad could. Then I got a Cox p-51 and I mastered level flight on it. And then I flew one of my dad's ancient profile planes that he had built before I was born. And then got into RC. And then into drones. I still have my dad's u-control, it has wire and a crank to wind the wire into the shell.

I haven't flown anything with a gas motor in 45+ years. See and hear the pattern and Sunday fliers at the Tri Valley RC Club in South Bend, In. when visiting friends that live near the club but don't miss it. When I here C/L something tugs inside a bit like the lines do on the down wind side of the circle. I do miss C/L but R/C sailplanes get all my flying time despite the Lil' Satan kit calling my name from the shelf saying I bet you still can . . . ;>) Thank You for sharing this, to me just as good as your canoe trip!!!

Me and my dad just got home from the US Nationals In Muncie, IN. I flew 3 combat events: F2D fast, Speed Limit, And 1/2A. My dad also flew 3 combat events: Big Block fast, Speed Limit, and 1/2A. He placed 2nd in 1/2A which was really good, but was skunked in Big block fast, and speed limit. I got skunked in f2d fast and 1/2A, but placed 6th overall in speed limit (sadly the trophies went to 5th). And on the last day I flew stunt in Jr, Sr, Open. I flew against one other junior who was really good. I had my sights set on something else though, which was making it the first year flying Jr,Sr,Open where i bring my Bom (builder of model rule) plane home in one piece. I only got 2 of my 3 official flights in because a big storm was heading over. We wanted to get home and I accepted my 2nd Place trophy and we drove home. Yet another year Muncie weather ruins part of the NATS.
