Glad to make your aquaintance! This video showed up on my feed this morning, didn't even realize it was model railroading by the title! Looking forward to part 2!

Great video. Nice to know I'm not the only person that goes nuts with using wires for the panels etc. In some cases it's basic, but it's much easier to alter something if you decide to change something. One thing I do have a habit of doing is labeling which wire does what and where it's connected to. Thank you for sharing. Arty

Evening Mr train man. Progress on the new layout is looking good with the trains running 👍🏻 Control panels are a lovely addition to any model railway. With the cheap products for you know where make it really affordable to put something that resembles a signal box diagram on your layout realistic so you don’t have to run around your layout switching points and moving signals before you run your trains and avoiding a derailment or a SPAD 😮 My layout is as messy as yours hehe 🤣 I took lots of model kits with me in my lorry and made them in my down time 👍🏻Looking forward to seeing part two 🤩 Take care cheers Stevie.

Hello Sir I love your videos. I need to build a control panel and thanks to you. I know how to draw the track diagram. As I didn’t have any experience of this. Thanks for getting me over a hurdle cheers Roger

I take it your the kind of guy to want to build a complete 00 gauge electromechanical relay interlocking and I'm completely here for that! But does this mean you've devised a good way to run a track detection circuit at the same time as the traction supply. After scrolling on forums, I've seen that this can apparently this can be done, but the explanations are a bit too dependant on actually knowing something about electrical engineering for me. In keeping with the rest of your style, it'd be great to see you do this without too much PCB or software action - with that one could then apply the track circuits to the wiring from your video on 3 aspect signalling.

Track circuits aren't that difficult to do. Its like wiring a analog layout. Instead of running wires to a section Switch, the go to a block detector. Cost is big factor though.

@@Wallsrail so you're saying that the circuit will "know" not to interfere or be interfered with by the traction current and the models will not be "distracted" by the other current. Do you think you might do a video on the matter one day

A better panel material is thin aluminum.

Might try that if I can get stuff to stick to it

@@Wallsrail get it laser cut and engraved then drip some paint into the engraving. its not at all expensive to so the drawing cost is where most businesses in that game milk your wallet. Used to charge $50 an hour for drawing when I was a waterjet operator. 😅 could draw it in free software if you have a good idea what it needs to look like Or, router will easily cut a V shape groove into almunium then likewise drop the paint in to make your white lines for track and grey for playforms etc
