Bonsoir, A mon avis, l'option 2 me paraît être la plus rationnelle pour une zone de travail. Bonne continuation. Cordialement. Fernando (France) ***************************$ Good evening, In my opinion, option 2 seems to me to be the most rational for a work area. Best wishes. Cordially. Fernando (France)

Definitely option 2, more running flexibility.

Option 2 looks better, but I would say option 1 is more prototypical. For a small shed with a few roads such as this, there would be more likely to be fueling parallel to the storage roads. Also, there's no way I would think that complicated pointwork such as slips would be incorporated to a diesel shed - although my experience is ScR from the 80s onwards.

Option 2, it will make life easier to operate if nothing else.

Option 2, but whenever I plan a railway, no matter what option I go with seems to be the least best.

Option 2 looks better. I've had a similar dilemma trying to fit everything into the space available. Prototypical ness sometimes must take second place for aesthetic & practical. Also i think it will be more 'playable'. Love watching your videos. Thanks Wallsrail.

Option 2 is better operationally. That being said if there is any way a headshunt could be incorporated it could be hugely helpful!

I think option 2 in principle is better as it allows a degree of flexibility and has a greater logic to it. I’d say though that from what I can see, option 1 looks better and neater. So I confess I’m undecided. What I would say is that if you could place a building between the entrance and exit roads it would make it look aesthetically better. I’d pop a hut in that vicinity for the shunters controlling the entrance and exit movements anyway in truth! But that’s just my opinion of course 😜

I think option two separate arrivals and departure roads.

Single lead. The shed isn't big enough to justify separate roads; there are/were plenty of bigger sheds on Britain's railways that were single lead access.

Evening Nigel, I think option 2 is better but I would make both roads bi directional for flexibility. I've done something similar with my shed . If you want some pictures get my number off matt Smith. Cheers Russ

I think the second option is the easier to operate. Takes the pressure off the choke point.

Option 2. Rationale: When I did locomotive maintenance for a living you wanted the ability to lock a track out for safety. Option 2 appears to have the least likely chance for someone to run into your work area.

Option 2 all day long

My question is: What are you going after? A busy junction with constant arrivals and departures? Or are you looking for a sleepy way point that sees only 1 or two trains a day? If it is going to be busy, two tracks will keep arrivals and departures from fouling each other. One track will suffice for a sleepy little junction in the middle of nowhere.
