30:39 is exactly why I didn't really dig Quantum Break, for as much combat as was present in that game the combat encounters started to feel like more of a hassle than anything by the game's close. I never got this feeling with Alan Wake (one of my favorite games..) and I'm not sure why that is, maybe the added mechanic of using the flashlight and other equipment opposed to just superpowers that started to become a bit 'seen it once seen it a million times' vibe.

31:06 "...I don't love this. I think the performance issues especially are a real bummer, and I really want this game to be a little more...I dunno, I guess I wanted something more outwardly exciting than some of what this action kinda tends to be. It's just kinda 'fine,' I don't know how else to describe it." My feelings on this game as well. The premise is fascinating, the concept is awesome, the visuals are truly excellent, the voice acting and character animations are fantastic, the powers are some of the most satisfying to use of any game I've ever played, the open world and exploration aspect of it is fun - but this game constantly falls flat in the most basic possible ways. Every time I find something about it that I like, I am immediately confronted with something that ruins the fun I was having. The enemies are annoying, you have to fight hordes of enemies that you can't escape or outrun in some cases whenever you go anywhere, which basically dampens any enthusiasm I had for exploring the cool environments. Combat is plagued with technical issues and enemies who constantly spam tracking, uninterruptible, devastating attacks, the shield power only works sometimes...on and on. I feel like Remedy is of an old-school game design philosophy; hard enemies = challenging. But Control demonstrates why it's more complicated than that. Repetitive fights with hordes of enemies with homing rocket launchers, floating a-holes who dodge your telekinetic attacks (which are somehow usually more effective than your gun), waves of low-HP suicide enemies who explode when they get close to you (and let out an extremely irritating shriek), minibosses who impede your progress and follow you from area to area who have obnoxious powers that make fighting them a tedious slog. I feel like I'm playing a game from 2004 with 2020 graphics. Enemies with cheap bullshit attacks that are unblockable or stun-lock you until you're dead aren't good just because they're hard. I feel like a lot of older, "venerated" devs in the industry still need to learn that. You can have enemies that are challenging without making them cheap and unfun to fight; just look at Doom. Padding your game by adding artificial difficulty "enhancements" like that is a cheap, lazy way to make a game more challenging. I wish this game had had more forgiving combat and that it incentivized exploration in the crazy environment that Remedy clearly put a lot of effort into creating. Instead, it's just another boring third-person shooter because they simply couldn't bring themselves to make anything different.

He’s literally trying to say one thing with words that don’t mean it He wants to say “every time my phone rings” but with other words, and the words he’s using already have other meanings. “Bling” in hip hop etc means something and it isn’t the ring of a phone.
