Thanks so much for sharing! The update of this video brought me here 😊 I do believe that beside the garlic's pesticide effect it has some amazing benefits that keeps the plants healthy & happy. Happy gardening! Sending love 💛

What other bennifits does garlic have on plants? Can you spray any plant with this mixture? IMO even if there were no other bennifits besides for the use of slug/snail control it would have to be worth it! I had never been bothered with slugs until 2020. It was one heck of a battle last year. Now they are back again for 2021!!! Those slugs sure can cause some major damage!!! To be so small you would think just one little bite would make them a meal.....LOL But NO!! THEY MUST EAT THE WHOLE DANG PLANT!!! I'm ready to give up!!! You work so hard in your garden, the slugs move in and destroy your plants in a very short time!!! I'm going to try this garlic mixture. I pray it works!! I honestly never want to see another slug as long as I live!!! I am ready to wipe them all out!!!!
@TheEnthusiasticGardener3 жыл бұрын
@@tonyaperry4763 I could not agree with you more about the slugs. You can use the mix too for aphids on your Roses and other plants that aphids and other pests attack and also you can use it if you get powdery mildew as well. I need to make myself another batch. You can dilute it much more than I did (I found that out when someone commented to tell me) so it will go even further. However … I must warn you … it really makes the house smell boiling all that garlic 🤣🤣 good luck!!

@@TheEnthusiasticGardener Thank you so much for this info. I am definitely trying this garlic method. I'm thinking I will boil it outdoors on the side burner of my gas grill. Even though I love garlic. I could eat it on "almost" all my foods.😁 Considering this mixture is rather strong, best bet would probably be to boil it outdoors. Again, thank you for the info and also for your response. Happy Gardening!!🐌🐌🐌🐛🦠🌺🦗🥀🦋🌻🦌🌸🐇🕷🕸🐜🦟⚘🐞🐝🍚🌦🌞🍃🌳🌿👩🌾👨🌾Bugs and all!

Apparently adding a couple of drops of washing up liquid helps to make the liquid stick to the leaves better.

Hi ; awesome idea.... has it worked; if yes then I'll go get some garlic tomorrow and spray my Hostas as well as I have a MAJOR problem with slugs & snails. I've tried everything even dug up a pond as I was told frogs will eat the slugs up but there has not been any decline in there numbers but now I'm proud owner of TONS of frogs and toads and newts I ky garden. Cheers. Have u done a follow up video to reveal the answer?
@TheEnthusiasticGardener4 жыл бұрын
Yes it works. What I should also have said is that you can also put the boiled bits of garlic around the base of the hostas too. Plus I’ve been spraying it in everything including aphids on my roses. It’s my new wonder spray 😁 I haven’t made a follow-up video, maybe I should do that. Good idea 😁 I did mention it in one of the monthly garden tours 💕

@@TheEnthusiasticGardener thank u for the quick reply. Right off to join the supermarket Queue tomorrow to get 2 big garlics. Also nice DIY with the Palette; I've seen few dotted around my neighbor's as they had some house projects done over the lockdown weeks so i see if i can ask for the pallets; I'm sure they be happy to get clear of it. Hi I do suffer from slugs and snails and have the same recipe as you but after decanting it into the spray bottle i top each up with water to make it go further. Apparently the slugs and snails don't like even a hint of garlic.

Hello there Kim, maybe for the first day, a bit. But please don’t spray this on your flowers until the evening when the bees 🐝 have gone to bed. I should have said that in the video. Have a lovely day ♥️

Thanks for this vid. I haven't yet tried it but I'm wondering if boiling the garlic might diminish its strength, or not. I'm planning to let the raw garlic (crushed, of course) sit in water overnight before using. I'm hoping that just spraying around the base of the plants will do the trick, as garlic is a bit expensive. Thanks again!
@TheEnthusiasticGardener2 жыл бұрын
I think that’s really worth a try stollie and you won’t have to put up with the smell of boiled garlic in the house either, because that’s very powerful to say the least! Good luck 🤞😍

Hi there Anthony and yes this really will work on repelling your slugs and snails, but do remember not to spray until evening when the bees have gone (if you’re spraying near flowers) as they don’t like garlic much. Hope you try it and I’m betting it’s going to help 😊
