Garlic Water / Spray as Slug and Snail deterrent

This is a all round completely organic slug, snail, aphids and a whole lot more deterrent. Especially for me Hostas, each year they got destroyed be slugs so this year I am doing something about it.

Thank you, 🙂I think your wife would go nuts if she would see the crap I do in our kitchen from re potting to planting, everything gets done in there, also because the light is good 🤣, However next time when I make garlic water it will be a outside job too the house stak for ages 😂

I feel the same way about my dahlias as you do your hostas 😭😂 definitely trying this as the slugs are destroying them. I'm prepared to stink out my windowless kitchen for the cause! (Like you, I love garlic, but know this will be next level). Thanks for the video!

I can tell you one thing this is the first time forever that my hostas have leaves at this time of the year and I religiously spray them every ween and after rain so it really seems to work .. I also use it on my lupins and they ate still there 👍👍

@@jochen.allardice-grein thank you, right, I'm making some tomorrow! My lupins are skeletons, my dahlias are full of holes and my brassicas were shredded within 48 hours of planting out. I've tried just about every other organic method so it's good to hear you've had success with garlic spray as that's the one I've not tried yet.

i read that market garlic sometimes carries garlic rust, a common allium fungus.. wouldn't a spray spread the fungus? have you ever tried planting garlic where you've previously sprayed?

seeing that you boil the mixture for some time I believe that will kill any fungus or bacteria, I haven't had the rust issue. I plant Garlic all over the place, and I use garlic spray on everything so I am sure that I have planted Garlic were I previously sprayed 🙂

Hi Tammy, I love garlic and the smell of it as well, but man that was pungent, and the house while cooking, shit that was strong 🤣. I tried it on my hostas and the leaves were not burned so the solution is good. Let's see how it works

Loved the video and am now making some garlic water...outside.. What ratio you would recommend for diluting?

Thank you, I use 100 ml garlic water for 2 Liter Water and it seems to work, the hostas look great, no burn on the leaf and no snails and strangely enough I love the smell when I spray them, I actually get hungry... not sure what that tells you about me 🤔😂

I try it, but no any effect to kill or repel slug/snail, may be only for some aphids. Don't wast time to care slug by it

Sorry to hear that, it certainly worked for me, yes the pain is that you need to do it every time it rains. There are always slug pellets, another option, slugs are a pain in the ass.

actually someone commented on this Video saying just that, that Garlic powder would work too, I have not tried it so far, because I made a HUGE batch of Garlic Water, but worth a try I guess. if you try let me know what the result is.

yes it is but you have to also sprayit after it rains everytime, which is a pain when you are working away from home liek I did this year, but for me the garlic water worker perfectly 👍

@@DharineCalaque-ej3oj No you let the garlic water cool down and then you also have to dilute it as I mentioned in the video. Do Not spray the concentrate on your plants and let it cool down, it keeps in the fridge for along time. j
