@ Thank you! It would make things so much easier in Logic and other than Apple’s own Modulator MIDI FX plugin (which is IMO inferior to MIDIShaper), there isn’t really anything available that is reliable or as good as Cableguys!

@@Youtubbbev no, as it says in the manual it just is a more complicated process to set up in Logic, unlike other DAWs, requiring the use of virtual MIDI ports. With a MIDI FX audio unit, one can just insert it on an instrument track in Logic and the plugin works instantly, no setup required. I use arpeggiators and other MIDI processors in these slots and it’s such a fantastic complement to virtual instruments in Logic. Apple’s own Arpeggiator and Modulation MIDI FX are okay, but they suffer from timing issues that I don’t experience with third party offerings, like Cableguys’. A MIDI FX AU of MIDIshaper would be a religious experience! 😁

One of Logic’s glaring weaknesses. I believe it has to do with AU plugins not being able to transmit midi unless loaded as an audio instrument. Awful

That's great. Not letting the good old stuff gather dust is the right approach. Thank you, I'm still using the original one and just recently thought it might be worth making it a bit more contemporary. Because sometimes the MIDI shaper is an almost irreplaceable tool ;-)

Playing with the demo, amazing work as always guys. I would purchase this instantly if there was a way to use a sidechain audio trigger, similar to how shaperbox 3 works! Maybe i am ignorant of a setting in Midishaper, but this would be an amazing update to make this an essential plugin

also im sure yall are busy, but i dusted off curve 2 the other day and that thing needs some love. it can be such a great synth but it needs to be brought into the present day a little bit. I also really like the idea of having community made patches available. its something only done by you and melda as far as the plugins i own go. good stuff :) The cableguys full bundle is one pack of plug ins i have not regretted buying yet.

Just got this! Does midishaper not have the white playback head/bar to show where it is in the waveform like ShaperBox? A bit disappointing :/

I’ve just bought the rest of your plugins in the sale. Installation was smooth except for this plugin . It has only installed the AU and I needed to restart my computer. Any ideas as it says there should be VST as well? Also, I thought I was getting Kickstart too but this wasn’t included and looked like it should have been?

With the latest version of Logic + new MIDI routing capabilities you don't really need the MIDI FX version, in the MIDI SETUP (bottom right) just set the Output to Logic Pro Virtual In :)

Literally demoed this a few days ago, was disapointed that the envelope drawing was nowhere near the power of shaperbox, and so opted to just buy snapback rather than upgrading to the full bundle... Will the same updates be coming to your other plugins such as curve and filtershaper in the near future? And will those be free updates for owners?

Is it possible to do a sort of 'non-destructive' shaping or LFO movement to other plugins? In other words, most the examples showcased here, it builds off the Center at 0.50, which I assume will override Diva's settings for that control. What if I wanted the filter cutoff to be whatever I set it to in the plugin and to have + or - 5% sine wave or random movement around that? While I know I could go set the 'Center' to be where I want the filter cutoff, I'm just wondering if there's any way to 'pass through' a bi-directional LFO onto a parameter where the 'Center' is wherever the knob/fader already rests. I know this is something they explore with CLAP, but just wondering if this kind of 'non-destructive' modulation seems possible. Main reason I ask is this is still a limitation of FL Studio and Patcher. You can set up this type of modulation in Bitwig, but it's a pain to set up in Patcher, and I've been trying to explore modulation routing options that don't override the parameters but instead modulate around them. Say you dial in some subtle random/chaos modulation, but then flip through presets of Diva with wildly different knob settings, you would still want to preserve those but add a little randomness around those new Center locations.

Hi there. MidiShaper (and other MIDI devices) cannot know what the destination CC or parameter is set to, so it’s not possible for modulation to work this way. What you could do is modulate a *modulator* in your destination device. Some synths have a static offset modulator that you could use for this purpose. However, you would not be able to flip through presets while preserving this modulation.

At first, we actually had been tempted to do so, yes. But with MidiShaper outputting MIDI and ShaperBox working on audio, we think it's good to keep them separately.
