Controlled Railroad Crossings on the Des Moines Valley Railroad

Just a short video showing the five now-automated crossings on the layout. Really nice to go from throwing a manually-operated switch to full train-actuated operation! Crossing circuits are the Grade Crossing Pro units made by Logic Rail Technologies. www.logicrailtech.com/index.htm

The bells on all crossing were installed a couple of months after this video was shot. You can hear them in my update videos after March 2016 or so. Thanks for your comment!

The center beam flatcar and MKT covered hopper with a UP emblem are out of place. The Rock Island was gone before UP took over the MKT. The flatcars weren't around until the mid to late 80's.

Fortunately, this is the Des Moines Valley Railroad set in the 90's about a fictional shortline that "might have" been. They use the "bankruptcy blue" ROCK paint scheme in looks only. Thanks for watching!
