Controlling the Shadows in After Effects using Redshift and Cinema4D

Really nice and informative tutorial. But why do you have to multiply the diffuse filer with shadow pass? Would it be different to using the shadow pass as a luma matte for the diffuse?

because the shadows AOV is a RAW AOV

Thanks man! The parts in cinema 4D are really clear, but what you did in After Effects.. I'm not really sure cos you opened the project and it was all already set up.. Would have been easier to follow along if you started from scratch. By the way, I noticed an issue with the shadow coming through the glass of the staircase, that shadow is always on even when you reduced the shadow pass.
