@redskittlesx932 ай бұрын
😆🤣 noo it wasn't! Ernie Dingo did not invert or alter the historical timeline of the "Welcome to Country" ceremony. The practice itself has been part of Aboriginal culture for thousands of years, reflecting a deep connection to the land and traditions. The 65,000-year figure refers to the estimated time Aboriginal peoples have lived in Australia. Dingo's critiques are more about how the ceremony is used and perceived in contemporary contexts, not about its historical origins. He emphasizes that the ceremony should be practiced with genuine respect and understanding, rather than becoming a token gesture. The traditional practice of "Welcome to Country" is indeed an ancient one, but discussions about its modern application aim to ensure it remains meaningful and respectful.

This was outrageously divisive. He didn’t thank the Brits for bringing modern medicine and technology to Australia…you’d think these indigenous activists would prefer that everyone lived in grass huts and caves, with no electricity or modern conveniences. My ancestors fought and died in Europe to protect the freedoms of all Australians. They get no thanks from these ungrateful indigenous radicals. Sick of it.

If white man hadn’t come and colonised this country it would be completely barren. They would have eaten all the wild life and then died of they would not be here today to cross breed with the white man to keep their generations going

🤣🤣 I think the indigenous managed just fine without the Brits modern medicine and technology for thousands of years. Why didn't you mention Brits bringing in alcohol and introducing it to the aboriginals and causing all sorts of problems with that. There's two sides of every coin, if you're going to mention the good then please conveniently don't leave out the bad.
