I like how on the surface, its superficial, but everything has meaning. Like the first episode, she didnt bring him to her room for sex. It was because going to your room is normal in dating. It was only when Ryouto stood there awkwardly did she think it was what he wanted and by the second episode we find out her reasons and motivations behind this behaviour. So far, enjoying the chatacter growrh and developments, hoping it continues.

Personally. my issue with her not being a virgin has little to do with any care for "pure virgins" but what it means for her character. She has spent who knows how long treating sex as something the is obligated to provide for her boyfriends and has gotten so used to it, that offering it before even starting to really date is perfectly natural for her. All of her previous boyfriends have been more interested in a good fuck to the point that the MC wanting to wait honestly confuses and hurts her. That is not a healthy way to view sex. 4:53 It should be noted that her response to him asking her out isn't "I'm not interested in dating" it's "I can't do that right now". Likely because she was about to move away given some of the history she reveals when asked questions.

And it will be a stupid romanticised version where the MC does good by making what is IRL the worst decision of your life. There's a reason for the stigma. It's basically an early warning system for people who will listen.

There's potential for this series to be really good but im worried it might fall short if it leans too heavy into tropes with the 3rd wheel now being introduced. I can definitely see Runa getting jealous if the old girl starts talking to him in school, despite him telling his own girlfriend not to talk to him at school.

I always have a hard time getting into these types of stories due to how much of an airhead the FMCs are. Honestly Agawa from Dare demo is a breath of fresh air.

First off: do any of my fellow shikikans think that the best friend (Nicoru/Nicole) looks like Memphis? That aside, I feel that is goes back to the age-old, and tired trope about how a young man is not a stud if he doesn't have "notches on his belt", and a young women is only as pure as her hymen. And if we are going to do the trope route, most of the "haters" on this shows are most likely sexually inexperienced themselves. I did notice, at least on Crunchyroll's page, that the number of hateful comments dropped off from Episode One to Episode Two. I feel like that the writer(s) are starting a redemption story for Runa. That the two of them growing together in a healthier relationship will show that sex isn't the answer. I'm glad that Andrew reviewed this show, as I thought that all the online hate was misplaced. Thank you.

I'm liking this series. I don't think that Runa is an airhead, though. I think it's more that she has been criminally misled by a string of "boyfriends" who are using her for sex. IMHO, this is a romance anime that's also a redemption story.

She absolutely is an airhead though. She said it herself: she doesn't want to think about complicated things, she just wants to buy pretty clothes and stuff. That's like... archetypal bimbo dialog. Let the girl have a little agency here! She chose to be a ditzy airhead, she enjoys being who she is, she has fun and makes the people around her happier by being her genki gyaru self. I'm not disputing that guys have taken advantage of her personality (they definitely have), and they've probably warped her perspective on relationships somewhat, but a lot of how she is... is just *who* she is. And that's fine.

So something that makes you cringe is not necessarily bad, In fact I would say its relatable in an awkward way. It did make me cringe a bit, but its not the end of the world. It seems like a decent enough anime. I am surprised something this tame is making waves. That said the relationship is off to a weird start, maybe because the intro is trying to start the relationship, intro the characters and deliver the hook in as few episodes as possible. There is another possibility, cringing at the MC and the Girl referenced in the title is kind of its shtick. Again, not bad, but I doubt it should be that controversial. That emoji that girl uses though, is the stuff of nightmares 😂
