Frankie being told by the people who make the show, ‘No, you picked Ricky Gervais in the previous round, you can’t just pick Ricky Gervais for every round. We have to explain that to at least one guest every show.’ 😡 ‘Oh, alright then, celebrity atheists.’

Dogs are sentient, they do have a sense of self, they have thoughts, desires, feelings, they feel pain and they dream - that much is obvious. That said, the issue here is anthropomorphism; treating them not as dogs, but as people. Expecting too much nuance/attention/logic out of them, not training/socialising them, no understanding what drives them, their instinctual reactions to things, the lifestyle needs of each breed and dressing them up or feeding them processed food meant for humans! That stuff should go in Room 101! Agree whole-heartedly. Abolish the absurdity! The celebs are insufferable, not atheism itself. And that said, I think its a little gaslighty to think a few decades of celeb atheism has somehow reached the same or worse levels of audacity and cringe as 1000s of years of religion (and all the horrors that entails) itself. Yup. Social media is itself, evil. Yup. We all know they don't have actual magical powers and there is some trick to it, but they won't tell you how they did it so its just a grown-up version of some kid who learned something nobody else did and lords it over people as a substitute for a personality. Its insufferable. Beards are hot, but some guys take it too far and make it their personality. Gets really culty.
