Controversial Kawempe councillor, Muhammad Segirinya, draws crowds on his way to swearing-in

A multitude of supporters of the Kawempe North Councillor, Mohammed Ssegirinya, caused a traffic snarl-up in town as they escorted him to City Hall for his swearing-in ceremony. The rabble rousing politician told NTV that he’s first task as a Councillor will be to fight for the release of the opposition leader Kizza Besigye from Luzira prison. Besigye was detained last month on treason charges.
