I'm looking forward to this series. Interestingly brother Daniel did an interview with Sh. Hassan Kettani a few years back. That's how i came to know of him (Kettani). I was impressed at Kettani's willingness to discuss and engage on political issues, he is the type of Athari scholar that really impresses me. Sound knowledge but also engaging with current affairs without selling out.

One of the reasons why people's heart is always shaken when they got some information about Islam is that we now have entertainers claiming to be dae. These entertainers don't always allow people to learn their deen from the right source. May Allah help us. All they just want to do is to be relevant. They don't want to accept that even if they don't post on social media, Allah can still see their work. Nice one brother.

Assalamu aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Sh! Please do the serie please. Personnaly I'm a revert Muslima. I tried to practice Islam as close a the sunna as I can and as I know. When I went back to my West African country I was labelled as a "wahhabi" because I was wearing hijab or because I like to wear black. Many people are used to pray with their arms dropping instead of putting their hands on their chests. When I would say this is not correct, they would say "oh what you are doing is for the Wahhabi". They've been using "Wahhabi" as a synonym of "extremist". I didn't even know what "Wahhabi" meant. And honestly I don't know much about the sh Muhammad ibn 'Abdul Wahhab appart from Kitab at Tawhid. So really it would be very beneficial to be able to first educate ourselves and then others in shaa Allah. Jazakallahu khayr!

Its not just bro hajji though Suleman ibn Abdulwahaab the brother of ibn Abdulwahaab wrote an entire book refuting him(the divine lightning) Mustafa al shatti wrote a book refuting him(the divine texts) Muhammad ibn humayd disnt add his biography to his book al suhubul wabilah and wrote unfavorable things about him These are first hand figures who lived during or just after the time of ibn Abdulwahaab and his movement. And ibn Abdulwahaab isnt even seen as a figure of authority in the hanbali madhab I wrote a comment highlighting some of the problematic things surrounding ibn Abdulwahaab earlier today but I think it got deleted though Hes not a marja'(a source we refer back to) Hes not a mujaddid He was called qarn al shaytan by hanabilah who saw the destruction and fitnah he caused and some scholars during that time called his followers the khawarij of their time It's so strange this sycophantic approach to him by some when the truth of the matter is he was seen the complete opposite by shuyukh and scholars living during his time

wahabis gonna do what wahabis gotta do.. the early najdiyya bragged about the muslims they unalived, now we are facing a softcore version of that, but they will not notice nor change (unless allah wills otherwise).

I am Moroccan and Know الشيخ الكتاني I think his pretty of book has some "controversial" critical statements about الشيخ محمد بن عبد الوهاب (he is Salafi but he do not agree with some accusations) but I appreciate that in the past years, it seems he is praising so-called Wahabis as our Oumma is facing much more important issues and we should unite on them. Frankly, I don not see any benefit from accusing الشيخ محمد بن عبد الوهاب of takfir considering that his recent followers are denying that.

اتمنى لو نصحت بكتاب تاريخ نجد لابن غنام حيث يعتبر مصدر محايد عاصر معارك الشيخ وافعاله وستجد أن هناك أخطاء وقع فيها الشيخ وأنا لا أفهم سبب جعل الشيخ فوق النقد مع أنه ليس بصحابي أو تابعي وهو من الخلف المتأخرين و التهجم على كل من ينتقده ووصفهم بالمبتدعة أو الحزبيين او غيرها من المسميات .أنا لا أعني هنا فضيلة الشيخ لطفي هنا بهذا الكلام عن التهجم على منتقدي الشيخ محمد بن عبدالوهاب فمن متابعتي له الشيخ لطفي رجل فاضل ويحاول دائما أن يكون مع الحق و يجهر به

Also you quoting a book by Faisal Al- Jasem, which is fine, but when critiquing ones position, you must take from primary sources, not secondary bias ones, if you believe that Abdul Wahab should be subject to any form of critique in the first place.
