Dude do you have a Patreon? You deserve a lot of support and I want to contribute. I recently discovered your channel while trying to learn more about mid latitude synoptic/mesoscale dynamics and the analyses and discussions you put out are consistently top notch and very helpful.

I really appreciate that; thank you for the kind words! Currently, I don’t have a Patreon, but I have been considering creating one, as I’ve had a few people ask recently about it. For now, I do have Super Thanks turned on here on KZbin, so there should be a button under each video where you can contribute. Thank you again!

@@ConvectiveChroniclesI strongly recommend creating a Patreon. I think you’re undervaluing your content. This is, in my opinion, THE resource for those wanting to understand forecasting severe weather.

Your content is required watching for me. Every novice weather enthusiast NEEDS to watch your educational videos. I binge-watched your Skew-T / Hodograph videos and I’m in awe of the dedication and detail you put into it. Thank you!

I'm pretty sure the "digit saving" for pressure and other values is a hold-over from when computer storage was precious and every data bit saved was necessary to make data storage manageable. I sure wish we could acknowledge bit saving at the ASCII level is no longer necessary and get rid of this relic. :-( Thank you for for this series! I am learning SO MUCH! 🙂

Thank you! Love to hear that! I think you’re right; it would definitely make things a lot easier if we could drop this digit-saving practice!

You are probably one of the smartest weather enthusiasts that I know out their and you really know what your talking about. Fantastic video as always. Also I am curious if a drought or wildfire has an effect on the surface pressure observation
@ConvectiveChronicles
@ConvectiveChronicles Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! Drought/wildfire doesn't really have an impact on the surface pressure observation, more so just the thermodynamic variables (temp, dew pt, etc.).

@@ConvectiveChronicles ahh I see thanks for telling me about that though, quite surprised it doesn’t have that much influence on the surface pressure

Is there any particular reason why the wind barbs are counterintuitive?

Hey man as an amateur love the content, and I know this is a random comment 😄 but how does one go from hobbiest to actually pursuing the field....
@ConvectiveChronicles
@ConvectiveChronicles Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It all depends on what your end goal is. Are you wanting to actually get a job in meteorology, or are you wanting to be a storm chaser? I can give you some good advice either way.

Storm chasing for now already actively almost done with nursing school if not for that I'd 100% chase a meteorological career
@ConvectiveChronicles
@ConvectiveChronicles Жыл бұрын
@@Syrian.Fathead So for storm chasing, I'd recommend reading/watching every book/article/video you can about severe weather forecasting, storm spotting, storm behavior, etc. Just try to absorb as much information as you can before you actually go out into the field. The more knowledge you have about these things before you start actively chasing, the better off you'll be. Once you're ready, I'd try to find somebody like-minded but more experienced in chasing in your local area to go out with and get a few chases under your belt. Try to apply what you've learned, note the things you do well and the things that you could do better to try to improve on chase by chase. In no time, you'll be a solid storm chaser.
