The purpose of this is so the local fishing clubs can fish the river ,The reason for the weed profusion is down to high nitrogen content in the water thus making the weeds grow at an over oral pace ,This takes w0 yrs to leach into the watercourses from the adjacent fields ,which are fertilised by the farmers using nitrogen , There's a massive drop in the amount of people angling , ease once mid may is passed the river becomes choked by weeds ,watercress goes right across it ,and bull mace and reeds smother the banks ,

River needs proper dredging... Not trimming... The water level will just get higher and higher if you don't take the weed and silt out.
