The guest list on TRS is surprising every week. This conversation is must watch or listen for all the Budding Astronauts. Commercial Space Project is quite unique project, hope it becomes affordable for us someday. One feedback - I personally love the picture or photo insert of topics or books discussed during the conversation, it really helps to connect and keeps us on the same page of conversation.

Hey Ranveer, I have two guest recommendations for TRS. First is Captain Albert Louis. He is Ex-Special Forces turned Entrepreneur. He belongs to 9 Para SF, same unit of Major Vivek Jacob. He currently runs SAIG, which is a strategic consulting firm. You can talk about fauji life and business. It will be very interesting. My second guest recommendation would be Vikram Sood, Ex-Chief RAW. We rarely hear about people from the intelligence world especially from RAW. It will be interesting too. P.S: Please conduct both of these podcasts in English.

@@tanjilamij4786 actually there is a jet program too which an Astronaut needs to qualify. If you see his recent tweets on Twitter, he is learning to fly a jet. That's part of the Astronaut training. That means his training is not finished. It'll probably take him months to finish that course.

18:00 - on Kalpana Chawla: the Space Shuttle Columbia, which she was aboard, was damaged during the launch, when a piece of insulating foam from the external fuel tank broke off soon after liftoff and impacted the leading edge of the wing, causing a hole in the heat-protecting material. Upon reentry 16 days later, the hole allowed super heated gas to enter the interior of the wing and caused the vehicle to break apart.

Space shuttles move at very high speeds like 20000-25000 km/hr...when they re-enter into atmosphere because of friction huge amount of heat is generated... something like temperature of 2000°c-3000°c which could easily melt STEEL... So heat shields are used to protect the space crafts ..

I’ve seen many of the episodes of TRS as of late, and I can’t say how happy I am to have come across this podcast. I can understand why it’s called “India’s leading podcast.” It has earned this moniker. Sirisha is an awe-inspiring individual; I wish I had learned about her earlier. She’s just as much an inspiration as Kalpana Chawla was during her time. I mean, really, how many people are so laser focussed since their childhoods and able to achieve what they want in their adulthood without their path getting diverged? Only a precious few. I have a friend who is similarly passionate about space. He, too, pursued aerospace engineering and is now working in a startup that delves into quantum cryptography with space technologies. Some cool stuff that I’m far from understanding, but he’s been vital in invigorating my interest in space and aliens from time to time. I can totally see why people are so passionate about it: when I was in high school I absolutely loved physics due to its scope, but I didn’t end up pursuing it unfortunately. I hope to keep my interest in physics alive through material like this.

While her achievements are undeniable and inspiring, it is important to have clear terms in engineering domains. An astronaut is someone who has been trained by NASA (a cosmonaut is some who has been trained by Roskosmos). If we call anyone who has been to space (or near the Karman line) an astronaut, even Jeff Bezos is one, and that is unfair to actual astronauts who spend years training for the complexities of space travel.

I think she meant when the aircraft re-enters the Earth's atmosphere the enormous amount of heat that is produced due to the friction with the atmosphere has to be dissipated somewhere but the aircraft. That distribution of heat is done by those heat shields which happened to fail in Dr. Kalpana Chawla's case.

Hey Ranveer, I have been your subscriber for a while now and love the diverse content and guests you invite on the show. I am a space science fan and it was great to tune in to this podcast with Sirisha. Would love to have more astronauts on your show. I am sure you would love and every space fan would love to listen to Chris Hadfield. Such an accomplished yet humble astronaut. Wish he could be on your show someday soon! My best wishes to you and your team!

GR8 show Ranveer as usual. Enjoy every episode fullest. Just a small correction when U mentioned dark side of the moon. In reality it is no darker than any other part of the Moon’s surface as sunlight does in fact fall equally on all sides of the Moon. It is only ‘dark’ to us, as that hemisphere can never be viewed from Earth due to a phenomenon known as ‘Tidal Locking’. A better term for the side we don’t see is the ‘far side’, rather than the ‘dark side’, which leads to all kinds of misconceptions.

i believe that carrying bonsai trees onboard a space travel would be beneficial to the astronauts caring for the tree, also it would be the best way to carry many variety of tree to a new world.
