I have seen his name in bibliographies for years and always laughed at his name. Now I feel bad because he seems like such a nice person.

I enjoyed this review on Professor Jan Assmann's research in Egyptology and his cross studies into the Old Testament. I visited, on a number of occasions, the Egyptology Department at Heidelberg University, having lived in the area (Emmertsgrund, Leimen, and Walldorf) from 1980-2002. The Egyptological staff was very helpful to my research and in introducing me to old maps they had of not only Egypt, but also their having introduced me to the Czech explorer Alois Musil's highly detailed (1:300,000 scale) 1907 Map of Arabia Petraea, which helped me in my Old Testament research in identifying biblical sites mentioned in the Exodus. In 2002 I retired from teaching in the U.S. Department of Defense School at Patrick Henry Village Middle School and returned to the USA.

I had the honor of meeting him, in 2013. He gave a speech in College and in that time I don't had idea how great he is. I make a stupid question to him, in German, I never will forget how shy It was.

What did you ask him, if you don't mind me asking?
