Love Josh soooooooooooooooo much........he is soo weird and sooo cute......and genius....there can't be another show that I love this much as I love PLEASE LIKE ME.....the first sitcom that surpassed FRIENDS in my heart. Thanks so much for your existence Josh.. and Thomas

Josh and Tom didn't use a formula at all for this TV Show. Screenplay writers have this meticulous process all the time, a pattern to make a quick buvk but these two mastered authenticity. The show started like it would climax or end. Also, the social and economic class of the characters matches with the story. To mention, every scene will make you say "oh I'll predict this would happen, this thing will happen to this character" and what happens is the total opposite of the common TV tropes we see! They don't follow any stereotype, they created unique characters with each of them having moral and ethical dilemnas that varies or change given a circumstance. Their values aren't linear unlike other TV shows where one character has a specific "niche" or belief when things come about. PLM doesn't have the luxury to indulge in problems per episode they just live in the present and don't demonize feelings or overcomplicate it too much. That's why these shows are rare to find. There's an actual rapport to the story and the characters are deeply studied. Even the bottle episode om Christmas Day was done beautifully because of how pressing it seems

+happyinchintz72 I, for some reason only stumbled onto the show last year and very quickly caught up. After seeing Josh on Aussie television for a few years, he kind of disappeared from my radar.....and I'm not sure how it happened. But Please Like Me is in my top 5 (?) shows. Not that I have a top 5 list, but it's one of the few I don't want to miss. Others I can skip a few weeks and catch up on eventually. To me it's almost like the premise of Seinfeld.......it's a show about nothing. It's merely an inside look at people's lives for a brief moment per week. I really hope the show runs for a few more seasons.
