In rural 1977 Georgia, a free-spirited young girl dreams of making contact with outer space. When a national competition offers her a chance to be recorded on NASA’s Golden Record and become part of space history, with the help of an unlikely troop leader, she recruits a makeshift troop of Birdie Scouts forging friendships that last a lifetime and beyond.
TROOP ZERO is directed by the award-winning directing team Bert & Bertie (The Taxidermist, Worm, Phobias) from a script by Oscar® nominee Lucy Alibar (Beasts of the Southern Wild). The film stars Academy Award® winners Viola Davis (Fences, The Help) and Allison Janney (I, Tonya, “Mom”), Mckenna Grace (I, Tonya; Gifted), Jim Gaffigan (“The Jim Gaffigan Show,” Chappaquiddick), Mike Epps (The Hangover, “Uncle Buck”), Edi Patterson (“The Last O.G.,” “Black-ish”), Charlie Shotwell (All the Money in the World, The Glass Castle), and introducing Milan Ray, Johanna Colón and Bella Higginbotham.
