I used to love Converse Chuck Taylor's , I'll give these a try and see how they are for basketball just recently started balling again and I bought the Kobe 1 protro . So far they're really good for balling, but I wouldn't mind having another pair of kicks to ball in.

Been dropping in lunar insoles from other shoes (like the All Star 2) into dress shoes and other shoes for a while. Great, easy swap and my feet thank me.

I will not be going after this colorway, but I will be anxiously awaiting the white version. For some reason those look awesome to me. I like the fact that they are so light, and that they will be true to size. That thing you're talking about putting insoles in dress shoes, I do that. The lunarlon insoles from the Chuck Taylor IIs are great for that. Highly recommended. Oh, and great detailed look video, as always. Can't wait for the performance review.

In the 80's when I was a kid, I had several pair of Chuck Taylors in different colors. I had a pair of all leather white/blue high tops as well. I really liked my Chucks; can't hardly wear them now; not as comfortable but I haven't tried in a while either.

The cole haan lunargrand/grand os are one of the nicest and comfy dress/casual shoes i have worn. Sometimes they go on sale at stores like Marshall's for around $60. They even come in knit models

I LOVE THE OUTTAKES!!! Really curious to see if other drop ins work just as well. That drop in midsole is pretty dope....the high walls makes me think that you;d be really contained in the shoes. I’m excited for the review....might be the first pair of chucks I’ve ever willingly owned LOL!! To follow up on your dress shoes tangent, the best thing EVER done was Cole haaan changing the game with the lunargrands. I love my pair and I also got the follow up...the zero grand. Which actually a nike free inspired Phylon outsole, but it has a lunar insole.They are great!! I only shave 1 pair of hard bottoms/ leather soles....sand they still have nike air in them, the rest of my dress shoes are lunar grands or zero grands.

I can definitely see some hits if the OG Allstar in this sneaker. Having the Chuck Taylor patch on the back would have been sick. I do like the idea of making a sneaker "modular." But I don't think it would be to practical until that made a OSFA insole. I would love to see something like that come to market so I could easily swap insoles.

Converse buzzword for this one is stay close to the Chuck “DNA”. In terms of looks? Yes they made it, bravo Converse. BUT Chuck “DNA” is also easy access, never had a real problem getting the pair of Chucks I wanted. So do they REALLY stay true to the Chuck DNA with all these limited release stuff? Anyway can’t wait for the performance review - I think this one will be digital - either 1 or “chuck” it in the bin. P.S. nerd comment: “next iteration” :-)

We've been saying this for years, they need to make a line of shoes (I suggest 3 models) that all use the same shape midsole. Then you could sell midsoles with the different tech and know your one midsole purchase works on 3 models and any updates Nike would put out.

I think it’s a nice play on the classic chuck’s. Wish it had a flat base though, if they didc I might have those under the radar to hoop in. Curious to see the full review on these. 😁 Also, I think they are not allowed to use the classic “chuck taylor” logo on other shoes besides the classic chuck’s. Read or heard that somewhere before.

Great review as always! I like the objectivity in the video too! But to someone like me, who grew up with the monster of a shoes like Larry Johnson's Destroyers or Rodman's, or KJ's or even Master P's and the beastly Tar Max, these are a hell of a joke. Not to mention that they look like a 20-30 dollar outlet bound joints... To me Nike is killing Converse slowly. I know that there's a lot of Chuck Taylor fans, but these can't be serious performance basketball sneaker, no matter the tech used in them. The materials looking cheap and this exact colorway makes them to look even more cheap. This is a plain simple shoe, that doesn't give that spark to your imagination which would increase your desire to play on the court and would give you that "super power"... These are my 2 cents.
