According to colour coding the first resistor connecting 225J capacitor is 1 Mega Ohms not 1 Milli ohms

you can't call this 12VDC.... notice how he first connects load and afterwads plugs the supply... if you have no load it will charge up to about 310 volts. and the output voltage depends on the load afterwards. for 12V you need to draw about 60mA from the circuit you can limit the output voltage with a 12V zener diode and a 150Ohms resistor. but it will have bad efficancy than. for a very specific use this might work. but its NOT a 220V/12V AC/DC converter for a general use case

It should be only 1k... Total drop required is 208v.. And there are 12 LEDs white, meaning 12*.025 amps =0.3amps... Now divide the drop required by 0.3amps, i.e. 208v divided by 0.3amps = 693ohms... So, just a 1kohms do...

Warning viewers, DON'T DO THIS! The output voltage will vary tremendously depending on the load and you may destroy what your powering. And dude, learn to solder. Sorry to be critical, but it's the facts. With that said, it would work, inefficiently, with a specifically designed load depending on the values of the resistor and cap chosen... but not close to being a good/safe power supply.

Kenneth you are right...it is dangerous in many ways:1) if you connect the neutral with the free end of the ceramic capacitor you will definitely get electric shock at the output, 2) if you take the electrolytic capacitor of low voltage value,it will become extremely hot within seconds,3)if you donot use pn diodes of higher ampere rating,they will burn if used continuously......I have tried many transformerless power supplies and thought to share my experiences.....I came across the following conclusion: 1)do use a 3 pin plug so that live wire and neutral wires are always connected to the circuit in the same way,mistake will definitely occur if you will use a two pin plug,2) use a bridge rectifier IC of higher current rating instead of using 4007 diodes to build it(then you will not require the polar condenser),3)use an additional 100 ohm 2 watt resistor to the neutral wire to drop the output more, 4) regulate the dc output...donot use zener,thay are very treacherous 😔,use a 7812 IC(in case you require 12 V dc) and donot forget to use a heat sink,5) the 1 megaohm connected to the ceramic should be of 1/4th watt,the 2 watt resistor for the neutral should be covered by heat arrester(fibre sleeve),6)keep the entire circuit hot glued to a mdf board/plastic box with ventillation holes made,6) use a 3 volt LED connected in series to a 1 kilo ohm 1/4 th watt resistor at the final output,7) use a 9 V battery connector at the output for safety

its not 220v, input but low voltage iput ac bacause if it is 220,v ac ot might blown up the caacitor and led bulb bacuse 220v input . and it will out a 80v to 110v

I have LEDs that have been working for years with this system that is better than electronic regulators because there are no components that can fail ( ic or mosfet)

Right...but I donot understand why in my case the electrolytic capacitor is becoming extremely hot....should I choose one with more voltage or should I attach an additional resistance of higher watt to the neutral wire...I don't know

а кто это тут изобрёл лед подсветку холодильника навесным монтажом, да ещё не поставил в схему стабилитрон, для защиты диодов от скачка напряжения, да к тому же не ввёл в силовую часть резистор ом на 500-800, который там должен выполнять роль предохранителя?))) изобретатели такие изобретатели

1 MOhm resistor : Brown -1, Black - 0, Green - 5 colors. 10^6 . 1000000 Ohm = 1MOhm. Or 1 and 0 - 10 and five(5) 0 (zero).

The transformer reduced 230v to 12v. In the circuit which component reduces voltage. At the bridge how much the voltage. At out put before zener how much voltage.
