@Superguru1232 ай бұрын
It's more like a step-up transformer. The frequency remains the same. Induction in the primary coil causes wireless transmission to the secondary coil, a concept invented by Tesla and utilized in the Tesla Tower. Behind this, you can observe that electromagnetic radiation is causing the wireless transmission of electrons. If you make a small coil with 26-gauge wire and 25 turns, then connect a mini bulb and place it close to the induction coil on the same plane, the bulb will light up without any wires.

The original coil had so many turns close together that the volatage per turn between two or more turns would be high enough to arc through the wire insulation and burn up the coil. The new coil he built had the wire spread across a longer lenght (thus decreasing the amount of turns overlapping each other). And also he added what seem to be epoxy or nail polish between layers of coil to increase insulation.

How many volts and amps is that making? Can it be scaled up more?
@videojuegos9379Ай бұрын
assuming 15kV output and 9w from batteries and 85% efficiency - 510 micro amps. Also, you can scale up flyback circuits a lot, they are how CRT TVs generate high voltage. You can tell he isn't getting 400kV from this because when he touched the wires' insulation he would have been shocked. edit: If you want higher efficiency, like 90% ish, you can use a ZVS driver that uses 2 transistors, they are softer on the transistors but are more expensive. I made a 300 watt one for 13ish dollars so still not too bad. If you do this, remember to make the 47uH coil very large, or it will bleed high voltage noise into your power supply and kill it.

I made really good arcs with 5V 2A input but the mosfet needed to be cooled by a good dissipator. I'd recommend using a flyback tho, same arcs but less dead mosfets.
