One of the most frequently asked questions is: when will there be a Windows version of any of my tools? My honest answer is: never. Not because I'm an OS snob, the reason is much simpler than that. The cause for most support questions I receive is not app, but operating system related. I simply lack the knowledge about Windows to support it as well as I can support MacOS. I understand that having my tools on Windows would help many other artists and even multiply the revenue stream. With my resources being limited I've chosen to protect my good name when it comes to going the extra mile to support the users of my tools. I can't do that on Windows.

I do have a question,why do we need this? what's wrong with the mix in key data? does mixed in key not work? I use djpro AI and just want to get all my cues from mixed in key to djpro AI? could you tell me the correct process.you offer a lot of information but its confusing. could you help me with this. please or is this the only way to get mixed in key to rekordbox to djproAI? the "ReCK" needs to be purchased to get mixed in key cues into djaproAI?

ReCK only works with Mixed in Key (MiK) and Rekordbox. It does not work with djay Pro AI. There is an updated version of this tutorial here kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ_Tq52rbK96oqs You can use the free preparation version of Rekordbox, and try the MiK "build in" procedure to get the MiK cues to Rekordbox. But there is a reason why DJs prefer to use ReCK: reliability, speed, flexibility and many more options. Once you got the MiK cues in Rekordbox, then you can use the DJ Conversion Utility (DJCU) to convert from Rekordbox to djay Pro AI. see this tutorial : kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWnRp32NpJWkn6c And just to be clear you need to purchase Mixed in Key, ReCK and DJCU for this to work.

What if my songs are already analyzed in MIK? Should I analyze them again? Also, a bit off topic, but what should I do if I have ran my songs through MIK and the key for some songs does not appear? Thank you for all your help!!

For cues and energy level ReCK needs access to the MiK database. It can only use the track's audio file tags for key-BPM comments and 0 in front of key values. If the key is not displayed in your DJ software then it's either not in the audio file's tags, or the audio file format does not provide tags (WAV).

I downloaded the app. Works great! But how do you get the comments in your Pioneer controller? I can only see them in Rekordbox on my laptop

In Rekordbox (with the CDJ USB inserted) you can specify under "column" which field you want to show next to title, I have it on Comments.

@@VeraVera-wz9ky ReCK "responsibility" ends with Rekordbox. Make sure you did import the XML data in the Rekordbox collection. Whatever you see in Rekordbox can be made visible on a Pioneer controller/player given it has a screen (and the RX2 does). Most likely the CDJ USB you created was either not created correct, or not updated after you imported the ReCK information in Rekordbox. Here is the correct procedure to create a CDJ USB (and keep it up to date) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2bJaWidYrCpnsk What happens if you view the tracks from the "Device" section in the Rekordbox? is the comment field there?

Wow! This looks fantastic! Does it work with songs with dynamic beat grids? I have a lot of 80s music that is a bit more organic and not really quantized.

ReCK relies on the Mixed in Key analysis and that is a static grid.

I have the same problem. 80% or more of my collection is mostly 80's, then 90's, Disco and older. beatgrid has been a pain in the butt. I'm thinking about buying this just for EDM

@@HumbertoAbed I was using Traktor before and switched to Rekordbox just for the dynamic beatgrids. I used to adjust the beatgrid by hand, but honestly the dynamic track analysis works really well 95% of the time with 80s music. I mix a lot of Italo disco and it's a life saver.

the problem I have is those Korean songs do not transfer entirely maybe because the name tracks are in the Korean language. From Rekordbox 6 to Serato. Could you take a look at it and give us a solution for international DJs? Thanks.

- I tried this once upon at time but the cues weren't helpful, fortunately I think this tool can remove all cues too - I think it's best to leave BPM analysis to Rekordbox 'Dynamic' since lots of tracks use BPM change for a cool effect nowadays - I think it's best not to use Comments since that's how you can sync My Tags to iTunes for way better Smart Playlists. Just toggle the Rekordbox preference to rewrite all the My Tags, go to iTunes CMD+A change 'grouping' or whatever, then you'll see all your Rekordbox tags, and you can make Smart Playlists based off comment contains _My Tag_ with space before/after. Rekordbox only lets you make rules 'all' or 'any', but iTunes can is wayyy more complicated and better. Just drag ALL the smart playlists back into Rekordbox and those will sync to cloud devices too, since intelligent playlists don't really work via cloud right now

-ReCK can remove the MiK cue points that it set itself (the cue names are used to identify them). Switch to "don't use MiK cues" and all ReCK set MiK cues will be erased and only the user set cues/loops remain. - That depends on your music catalogue, for most static is the way to go. - Also very personal. MyTags are dope, but having the MiK tags as a sortable column in all your music software is also dope, so just a matter of what you need. Some of my cues in Rekordbox when I've finished using ReCK don't follow a chronological order (i.e. they'll be 4 cues which will be A,E,F,G rather than A,B,C,D). Any idea why this happens and how to fix it? Seen that this only happens with tracks that have less than 8 cues in Mixed In Key but would be great if you have any advice!

It's a technique called "smart pad assignment" where each hot position (either cue or loop) is assigned to the most logical 1/8th pad. So intro loops are at the first pads and catch loops at the last pads. This saves you "empty pads" in between. saving juggling cues/loops if you want to make a cue/loop "in between" BTW the hotbank positions are always chronologically sorted just not in a single uninterrupted row. If you don't want this then enable "Don't change hotbank entries" in the ReCK advanced preferences, However MiK cues will not be assigned to hot positions either.

when my rekordbox is analysing tracks in rekordbox preferences i have BPM and phrase clicked ( ticked ), and i leave Key with no tick. i then use MIK for my Keys, my question is is there a negative in have BPM and Phrase ticked within rekordbox preferences? ( i didn't think MIK has the capability to assess or look for phrase )? kind thanks mate, jeff

no, you need to have BPM/Grid and everything else you wanted ticked, incl phrase. MiK might overwrite the BPM in the file tags, but that value is not used by RB at all (only there for cosmetic reasons). Because you need to run RB analysis before using MiK all that you want to enable is fine, but BPM/Grid is a must for ReCK.

I dragged songs that didn't make the conversion from 2b keyed folder back into MiK and did the process again, but these files will not process. I'm thinking these files are the problem. Is there a way to resolve this?

Hey Roy, most likely these tracks contain NON ASCII characters in their filepath or are not analyzed by Rekordbox (=no grid). Contact me over mail/FB if the problem persists. YT is not my support channel
