Worked perfectly! Was on legacy and couldn't disable csm in order to enable secure boot for windows 11. After doing this (and enabling secure boot) my computer is now windows 11 ready! Thanks for the easy to follow guide!

Worked spot on. My Hard disk was MBR and BIOS boot = LEGACY. (Windows 11 checker says "No secure boot") I converted the boot hard disk to GTP first, no problems. Then rebooted, got into BIOS holding DEL down, and selected UEIF instead of LEGACY, Save and exit, it rebooted using EUIF and saw the GPT hard disk ok, booted into windows 10 OK. All my windows 10 settings and programes are still all intact. Thank you very much for this excellent video. thanks again.

@@itarmy2778 Yes thanks for the reply, I got into the bios but sadly the Dell inspiron 620 bios never had a UEFI option to adjust, it's very basic options on there. I saw a Dell forum post that said theres a fix if you move the CMOS pins over to clear it and reset, I gonna try that now and see if that works. Its very weird cause I just had a new cheap 2gb card and it worked fine but my MSI rx 580 wont work.

OMG YOU ARE THE BEST! I have an nvme m.2 and i didnt switch to gpt when installing windows on it so i had problems! It would let me boot into the os but sometimes it wouldnt let me boot! But now that i switched it to gpt i can disable csm and enable secure boot and also it boots into windows faster! U made my problem silmple and easy to fix!

This worked - thank you! I have been trying to do this for some time. On the Aorus A370 I disabled CSM and needed to change the boot priority to the new partition once converted to GPT and restarted but it went flawlessly (except I had to convert twice, so I have a random 100mb partition on C but I can live with that!)

Excellent video, worked for me after I thought I had to wipe/reformat my SSD and install windows again just to convert from CSM to UEFI. This did the trick and I am very grateful for the no b.s and fillers, just straight to the point. Thanks again. All the literature out there about jumping your motherboard and removing the CMOS battery is crap and a waste of time and does not really fix the issue.

Wanted to say thank you for this. Had built a new computer 10th gen i5 with DDR4 3200mhz 32GB RAM, RTX 3070 plus much more. Ended up getting my new 10th gen i7 today, swapped out the i5 for i7 and computer only booted to the bios. Confused as hell figured out the MSI MB was somehow set to CSM instead of UEFI and my drive was set to MBR. Installing the i7 somehow triggered the MB to switch to UEFI and that explains my boot only to the bios. Did your tutorial and boom, up and running in UEFI, no data loss (even though I have complete backups) and problem resolved. Thanks again. The whole time I thought I was set to UEFI and turns out I wasn't.

YOU SAVED MY LIVE. I accidently installed this weekend W10pro in Legacy mode on a new PC I have build. Took me the whole day to setup windows, my programms, settings, etc. Than I found out I made this stupid mistake and had my bios at Legacy+UEFI. I started searching online, and also found a MS page about it: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt. That's unbelievably complicated and very hard to understand. Need help Can't flash windows when Legacy is disabled My ultimate aim is to get the hard disk formatted GPT rather than MBR and boot accordingly. The laptop boots from USB as long as "Legacy Support" is enabled in BIOS. When I change this to disabled the laptop won't boot from USB and reports the hard disk error 3F0 Note: When "Legacy Support" is disabled in BIOS, the F9 boot screen shows no entries I tried Rufus with GPT partition and windows media creation tool as well. Hello. I tried this method of converting from mbr to gpt so I can use uefi boot mode. It appears the converting code is checking for disk 1 and the OS is in disk 3. The procedures were easy to follow and seemed to work as it successfully converted my drive 0 from MBR to GPT and my BIOS mode to UEFI. I previously had my OS on a HDD but added a SSD and moved the OS to it and made it my new C drive. The old drive became my D drive. After changing to UEFI and rebooting, my D drive letter became my old C drive and my current C drive was renamed as my D drive. It apparently found the old version of windows 10 because the updates were all out of date and my desktop icons went from about 50 down to a dozen and no new programs were available. Everything looked like pre SSD. Do I change the boot order in BIOS to fix this? If so do I change the drive letters first or will they revert to the correct ones afterward? I do have a recent image of my C drive and also a full backup though the problem doesn’t appear to be lost data, just booting from the wrong drive.

Thank you for excellent instruction. I followed your advice and succeeded converting MBR to GPT and Legacy to UEFI , let's say, less than a few minutes. My purpose in conversion is setting NVME m.2 SSD as boot drive. As far as I know, I must have UEFI mode first before proceeding to next step. My question is, what is boot partition after conversion to UEFI, 100 MB created by the procedure, or major partition of c: drive ?

My pc is now on lagacy mode. One primary pertition drive c and extended d, e, f.... Now I wants to convert mbr2gpt is there any data loss issue?
