Thanks man. I needed to bury some PVC to run an extension cord to a building. I just need to modify it to dig a little deeper.

I use my cheap Green Machine edger to make alot of ditchs for coax wire. My blade only has 2 teeth instead of 3 like yours. I stacked 3 blades together and it works great but only gets about 3/4 inch wide. I think that with the speed your blade rotates a 2 versus 3 tooth blade would help you. Theres alot of small tractor subsoiler videos that show similar blade design that im using but its just rotating instead of stationary. Anyway good job, liked. And i used to install satellite tv for several years so ive buried thousands of feet of cable and using an edger is the best idea short of a dedicated piece of equipment
@AverageJoes4u3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the feedback. It never occurred to me to just stack the blades. My plan was to bury an extension cord in PVC pipe to run to another building so I could at least have a light out there. As you could probably see, my design doesn't exactly run smooth. Definitely needs some refining. I think your idea would run much better. Thanks for the help!

Pull the trigger on your welder and see if you can hear a firm “click”. If not, then your solenoid valve isn’t opening to allow the gas to flow through the hose. It could be as simple as wiggling the power wires going to the valve; or the valve itself might be sticking. It’s very simple, don’t be afraid to tinker with it. Hope this helps!
@AverageJoes4u3 жыл бұрын
That is helpful. Thank you. I assumed it was some kind of valve in the handle but I don't know enough about them to just dive in. I'll check it out and see what I can figure out. Thanks again!
@murraychadwick93622 жыл бұрын
@@AverageJoes4u The valve is not in the handle. It's inside the welders side panel where your gas hose attaches to it. Follow your gas hose from the tank to where it goes to your machine. Where your hose stops on your machine is the bad gas valve. If that valve is not clicking when you pull your guns trigger that's your problem.

Is this a video about trenching or showing everybody how you can’t weld?
@AverageJoes4u7 ай бұрын
You're a funny guy. I think I made it clear in the video that a welder I am not. It was a video about a silly idea that nobody should ever try. Having said that, thanks for taking the time to drop some encouraging words for a stranger. Have the day you deserve sir.
@boots78592 жыл бұрын
That was some crazy. No matter the skill, I'd be worried about one of those bit breaking and putting a hole in someone... What about take 4-5 cheapo circular saw blades with a shim between each one to separate them by 1/2" as a bit head?
@AverageJoes4u2 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely correct. The only time it has been run was the demo for the video. While I still have confidence in the idea, the design definitely needs some work. To say I was nervous while filming would be an understatement.
@rickkatz469210 ай бұрын
Rather than weld something on the blade, couldn't you put a twist on each of the middle tines. Kind of like a saw blade.

Good job. but please dont go to long without guards and protection on that thing. Ive run trenching machines for 30 years and have many close calls from rocks pieces of buried crap and once the machine dug up a steel bar and threw it through under the machine and just missed my leg.....i also hit a plastic tree bucket and the machined pulled my rotator in half and put me out of work for 8 months.....trenchers ar not to be taken lightly.......and dont try to home make one that is going to dig any deeper than what you have......I like that small trench....perfect for TV, dog wires, coax , and phone lines and some small water irragation....have fun and be safe.
