@@charlestoth3273 sorry to hear that bro. TL:DR at the bottom for some good info. i've seen IM live more times than i can recall to count now. frist time was in 1996 when they had blaze bayley and hit a few small venues , it was freaking wild. there was barely a gaurd rail at the show it litterally only had a 1 ft space between the rail and the stage. no seats. saw them again (2nd time) in 99 when bruce and Adrian returned , durring the edhunter tour the venue was bigger but was at the no-seats Sunken Gardens in San Antonio Texas. saw them a few more times there on various tours , as well at at the woodlands (a seated venue) and just lost count at some point. most memorable woodlands show; was one where they had Motorhead opening , Dio as 2nd act ,and then Iron Maiden closing. one of the most rememorable things of that show was the fact my sister screwed around so much before the show we completely missed Motorhead :( . and i never got to see them live. now both Dio and Lemmy are gone. I did get to see Dio he was like 63 at that time , freaking amazing performance. and of course IM was their usual amazing showmenship that night. TL:DR any way they are gonna start back on tour in the spring to hit many of the canceled spots, so you should go to their web site and check for new dates.

It is worth mentioning that the lyrics of this song are amazing. The song is about a cavalry trooper about to participate in the tragic slaughter of what becomes known as the Charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean War. The song follows his fear as the cavalry lines draw up, there plunge forward into withering Russian fire and his eventual being shot as he closes with the enemy. The gallop pace of the guitar and drums during the song superbly mimics the thrum of charging hooves. The song is basically perfect, the song itself first appears on the Piece of Mind studio album in 1983 and has been a concert staple ever since. So the Trooper is now approaching 40 years old, and as a testament to its longevity and brilliance it still bloody howls, it is as powerful today as it was when I first heard it in the mid 1980's. Iron Maiden is, quite simply, generational.

Iron Maiden formed in London in 1975 and are still on the go having just released their 17th studio album in September. Try to do live reactions as this is when they are at their best. In their sixties now and still sound as good as 40 years ago. Bruce Dickinson the lead singer has written books, produced films and flies the band on tour in a 747 with all their touring equipment. A lot of songs to react too. I would suggest to get you started Hallowed be they name, Fear of the Dark, Rime of the Ancient Mariner (epic song) , Paschendale. Many of their songs tell stories as did this one. Iron Maiden are a history lesson. Happy reacting.😀 PS I've seen them 5 times in concert and all shows were fantastic.

Great reaction as usual. Thank you. With many Iron Maiden songs, you often get an accurate history lesson. The Trooper tells the account of a British soldier during the Crimean War. Lord Cardigan led the British cavalry against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854. Lord Raglan had been ordered to send the Light Brigade to prevent the Russians from removing captured guns from overrun Turkish positions. However, there was miscommunication in the chain of command and the Light Brigade was, instead, sent on a suicide mission charging straight at heavy Russian artillery which cost the lives of 600 British soldiers. This tragedy inspired Alfred Lord Tennyson to write the poem The Charge of the Light Brigade. Edit: Other great Iron Maiden history lessons you could check out.... Run to the Hills, Alexander the Great, Paschendale and Empire of the Clouds. Up the Irons!!!🤘

If you're looking for metal that make you wanna jump like crazy, try some Anthrax (Caught In A Mosh, Indians and Efilnikufesin are great songs to start with)! For classic metal you should check out the mighty Judas Priest! They recorded dozens of anthems, such as Screaming for Vengeance and Hell Bent For Leather. Finally, you should look for early Iron Maiden as well. Try some songs recorded with their first singer, Paul Di'Anno (Purgatory is one mighty kick in the ass, Killers is merciless, and Phantom of The Opera is one of the greatest epics this band ever made). Also, look for their live recordings in the Hammersmith Odeon, 1982. It was the first Maiden tour with singer Bruce Dickinson, they were young and full of energy, and really shine on songs like Murders in The Rue Morgue, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Run To The Hills.

Written by bassist and founding-member Steve Harris, the song is based on the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854, which took place during the Crimean War, and inspired by Lord Tennyson's 1854 poem of the same name. The track has been the subject of much praise since its release, with AllMusic describing it as "an all-time genre classic that boasts guitarists [Dave Murray] and [Adrian Smith's] most memorable harmonized lead riff, plus that trademark galloping rhythm," while Mick Wall comments that it is the song "which most Maiden fans from those days still recall first when you mention the album." Despite the popularity of the song, it was the single's B-Side, a cover of Jethro Tull's "Cross-Eyed Mary", which managed to gain a substantial amount of airplay on US radio, becoming one of the band's few tracks, along with previous single "Flight of Icarus", to do so.
